Well unless a miracle happens, the wife and I won't be joining after all.......The Vette is booked into the shop for 25th, as it has a wobble/vibration and bit of a clunk when letting off the throttle, or getting on the throttle. I'm hoping this is a quick and simple fix, but this may the deciding factor as to whether or not we can make it.:Banghead:

that sucks... sounds like some play in the driveline... u joints - not sure how the corvette driveline is / works parts wise.

good luck fixing it...

That was my first thought was U joint as well. That is as simple of a fix that you will get for a vibration issue so fingers crossed.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the feedback. If I wasn't away at work, I could look at this myself, but hopefully the shop doesn't soak me!

Hope it goes well Dub but don't let that stop you. Still come and drive whatever. You will be the "support" or "chase" vehicle. LOL. Brian has done it. Its about the people and the experience.
I see you're form Lloydminster. I'm working in the County of Vermilion River throughout the summer, we will have to connect!

Dub, these cars have torque tubes from the engine to the trans in the rear, as far as I've figured out there is some kind of rubber bushings that the driveshaft runs through inside the torque tube. I think there is four? also the connection to the trans at the rear or the clutch flywheel at the front is a bit different than the regular u-joints. if you have a vibration /clunk I would be hoping it is one of the half shafts to the wheels. possibly an easier fix.

take any of what I've just said with a grain or 3 of salt. i'm no expert.

that is more info then I know.... that is why I questioned my own comment of u joints. :)

If it is a couple hour fix then still could make the event! Good luck with it!

I'd like to join the cruise but can only make a day trip. Will have to return home on the 3rd. Should be fun.
Rick

Ahhh looks like at least 2 Long Beach Reds ("Rick" & "SN") may be in the pack on the 3rd .....
the Orange Crush Duo ("Rock" & "Rruuff") just might be noticing us !!! ;)

Hello "Corvettedad"
Day-tripping no worries! You are most welcome.
Over-nighting ? Also most welcome. Give Lake Louise Inn (403) 522-3791 a call for a room ... I was late to commit but bit the bullet for an upgraded room. It will be worth it!
It would be great to meet you ... feel free to introduce yourself in New Members ... we all love new Corvette Owner Pictures and a 2017 at that !!!

OK, I found / bought some two way radios........ I checked Kijiji and seen a new pair sealed in box of Cobra microtalk CXT345C for $40 . these are on Costco.ca for $65 plus GST....... Saved about $28 ......... good score.

Everyone doesn't need to have them as a must but Paul said a few sets are good as with 22 cars he might not be able to see the last car most of the time!

Also, there is a pool and 2 Jacuzzi so bring your swim trunks in case we relax our muscles after a long day of driving.

22 cars I see..... awesome!
