Does anybody know , when Quebec dealers get their , 2023, C8 allocations? I am not sure I can trust my dealership with info anymore.
One of the smaller ones in Calgary. What dealer you with?
Hello all. I am new to the forums but am now a veteran to the waiting game. I ordered a 22 convertible in July/2021. My dealer called yesterday to inform me that #1 on the list had gone into production a day or two ago. I am #2 on the list. After several chats etc I was informed that my order was at stone 1100 stage. I asked them why after almost a year why mine was still at a standstill. I finally got it out of them that they thought it was an allocation issue. They have sold 1 corvette per year over the last 2 summers. I have now ordered a 2023 and have been told/assured that I am #1 on their list. So now I wait again in hopes that I get this car.
Agreed. Too many think that wow... 1100.... my order is accepted by GM. Gm doesn't even know your order is in the system. Your dealer is the only one smiling....So many people are fooled by 1100 Status , your dealer could print those all day, you didn’t really order a 2022 with no allocation
Good luck, I was promised a 2021 C8, then a 2022 for this spring, sold my Vette, because I believed, this time, and now I have to wait for a 2023 ! Second on their list and been waiting 26 plus months . My dealership has a wait list of 35. At 4 Vettes,a year, now, used to be 7 to eight ,it means an 8 year wait for number 35 , at this rate.yes you are both correct. I had Specifically asked in Sept if my order had been accepted. by Gm to which I was told yes. So needless to say I was not happy to find out I had been misled. Hopefully the new order will work out better. Also I will be staying on top of it a little more this time.
I agree that Canadian dealer numbers have been cut in half. My dealer sold about 40 to 50 corvettes a year, now they get about 2 allocations a month, and none in the last two months. Hope May will be different!Good luck, I was promised a 2021 C8, then a 2022 for this spring, sold my Vette, because I believed, this time, and now I have to wait for a 2023 ! Last year I got an allocation in Aug. for a 2022 and showed up in September, it can go a lot faster than 3 months with Ontario deliveriesI have been waiting since March 21 as well so I feel your pain. I sold my 17 GS at that time believing that the normal delivery rate the dealer forecast would continue but it has been half that. I am now #2 on the list but given the production problems do not expect an allocation for May. Fingers crossed for June and hope to see the car in Sept.
Missing one summer was in the plan but a second is painful. How does that saying go... "Fool me once...
Dealers/Salespersons often have a limited vocabulary... They understand commission, sales, profit, bonus. etc. If you happen upon one who also understands honesty, integrity and customer service, keep them.yes you are both correct. Let's hope that is the case but with supply chain issues continuing there is a realistic probability of another delay for parts. And with the Z06 production beginning to influence the Stingray numbers it looks to be a longer wait than last year. So far every anticipated date has been pushed to the right. Crazy times for sure.Last year I got an allocation in Aug. for a 2022 and showed up in September, it can go a lot faster than 3 months with Ontario deliveries
Are you sure? I thought the wording was all cars manufactured after 2018.Used cars are exempt, so all of those auto trader cars will not be hit with this new tax.
if that true all used C8s will still increase in price on autotrader. buyers lose, sellers win. those that bought pre-tax and sell after will win twiceUsed cars are exempt, so all of those auto trader cars will not be hit with this new tax.
key Words…one time tax…new vehicles…manufactured after 2018…not registered before Sept 2022. That said, the wording is clear as mud to me!Are you sure? I thought the wording was all cars manufactured after 2018.
Oh well, I won’t have to worry about it until my name comes to the top of the list for an ERay- probably 4 -5 years from nowYes. It says

Trudeau needs to go. A decent car these days, cost at least 40,000$. Luxury taxes should be 200,000$. All they know how to do is empty our pockets! Carbon tax while gas is at an all time high and now this. They are a minority , hopefully, the other parties vote against this. I doubt it , though. One more thing for those of us awaiting production and delivery is Bill C-19 Luxury Tax. This bill is now before parliament and will impose a 20% levy on all costs above $100K on your C8 delivered after Sept 01 2022. GST and HST are imposed on top of that tax. For those of you looking for HTC, or 3LT trims, combined with Z51/MRC plus any additional options this will start to increase the tax bill quickly. It is easy to exceed 100K these days.
For example, C8s for sale in the used markets at roughly 130K will see a 6K tax hit with an additional 780$ in HST (HST is computed after the Luxury tax) for a whopping additional $6780 tax bill. Yikes!
