They sit on the bridge on 184st plus Ray Gibbons dr also south of there as well. Sorry, every bridge
They are constantly on the Henday, 6am, rain, snow, fog. Good news its NOT a money grab

No radar detector will notify you of the dragon eye used in Edmonton on bridges. it is non detectable. You need a ALP laser shifter / jammer

Great post Brian. Especially for those living near Edmonton. KMPH.ca however does cover specifics for the entire country.
Thanks for taking the time to post all this.

Great information Brian and a very interesting read. I may have to rethink this radar purchase. There's so many things to consider when making a purchase.

If you travel AB or BC highways only and small towns a cheaper radar might be good enough. Now Laser hand held..... pretty well will get your speed the first buzz at you... not much of a chance to slow.

Even the best radar detector still has loopholes - meaning can't help you with everything.... that is why I haven't upgraded yet.

s**t, I have a laser jammer ( older Escort one ) that is still new sealed in the box, didn't know which vehicle to install it on, ZR1 or my daily driver.

I very seldom get to Edmonton Brian, lots of hwy and back country roads.
I drive BC quite a bit but I know where to go slow.
I'm not a speeder, been ticket free for 40 + years ( couldn't just jinxed myself) but I do like to pass real quick. Will most likely get something for hwy driving and take my chances on the other roads.

40 km hr over in BC will get your vehicle impounded..... keep that in mind.

Yes, passing zone is warp zone for me too...... some guys will remember the low flying rocket at the 2013 Mountain Corvette cruise.

Having a radar just to be alerted where the cops are is good.... in case your holding your phone for a second or whatever.

After reading all this, I am tempted to buy a detector. I like gadgets too. They are illegal in MB. Don't know if the RCMP are diligent with their detectors to catch me using one or not. Don't know how grumpy they are going to be either. As long as there are no demerits involved. Would be handy when I went west. Like some have said, I do fine til I pass someone on a 2 lane highway. Kick off the cruise control and then it gets exciting and addictive. When I brought my car home on the maiden voyage from Moncton, I was determined to prove everyone at home wrong. Plus I don't need anymore demerits. They were all sure i would get at least one ticket on the trip. New Brunswick is 100 kph limit. Everyone is doing 122. That would not work in MB. I didn't trust that plan and worked my way up to 118. I learned half way home that my high speed passing addiction could get the car impounded before I got home. And then there is the fine, no licence and impound charges. Had to dial back the fun factor. The car is a constant test of willpower. The acceleration is too much fun.

I need to update my radar as well......... Current passport is older and gets set off with modern cars and sensors that warn of danger. PITA is sometimes the RCMP still uses K-band to catch us off guard. New detector is complex. In that not much too set them off falsely.
