I have a Valentine and it works well but I use it more as a reminder to stay slow than a pass to go really fast. It has saved me many times on the edge of small towns where local police like to set up and catch you increasing speed before you get to the higher speed zone or not slowing down fast enough as you enter town.

if you come through Edmonton lots I would say this one.

Radenso Pro MultaRadar

It goes off with the new Edm photo radar traps.

Now, the bridge Photo laser traps in Edmonton you need this combo. Only one that detects / jams the dragoneye photo laser they use here.

Radenso Pro-MultaRadar + ALPriority Package

Yup ... got "welcomed" to Edmonton by one of those bridge bastards ... was told Edmonton Police doesn't operate those and the funds don't even go into the Policing Budget.
It pays other Edmonton City Salaries I guess ...
Would love to know a list of all the Edmonton photo shenanigans tricks that they have going for when I am there.
(I must say it feels driving on the Henday feels slower than driving Calgary's Deerfoot - wonder if it does attribute to the many photo vehicles I see there)

The South and West side of the Henday has to be one of most insane roads I've been on. Its very rough if you're in a Corvette and many drivers are speeding like hell. Tons of crashes on there too. I avoid it generally. We got cut off and nearly hit going to Ziggys birthday dinner on there last month. :Mad5:
The North and East sides are much smoother and it seems less insane most times. The Deerfoot in Calgary although busy was a much better experience in a Corvette.

Interesting how Edmonton might like Deerfoot and Calgary might like Henday in comparison. Deerfoot has a lot of three lane flow which is likely giving it a positive feel. The three lanes really does add more to the Fast-and-Furious actions through. I did notice a lot of two lane only on the Henday in the South and West. The new latest Henday Northeast opening appears to have more lanes. (my GPS says I am running in the fields there)

First time I’ve seen this set up. I’m going to dig deeper and check it out.
Thanks

I will try get Nanook to post on here.... he has or maybe sold his yellow ZR1 ( seen he had a new Porsche Turbo )

he has this Radeso/ AP combo...... he is probably know the most out of all of us on radar detectors and laser shifters/ jammers.

I have a passport 9500ix and should upgrade to the Radeso

That would be great to hear from him Brian. There is so much hocus pocus with these systems. It really seems you have to be concentrating on putting together a system that performs specifically best for your local level and configurations of enforcement. What works the best in Edmonton may suck in Vancouver....
Thanks,
D

Watch his videos......

Nanook of the North << main link

the Antilaser Priority is the only one I think that catches/ jams the on the bridge guns.

I am actually working on something that will blind my plate for night time photo radar. home made combo... still need to test it.

This city sucks..... speed limits 10 km hr too low on most roads then they catch you for 6-9 over.

I'm off to check out Nanooks videos..

Starting to get my timezones sorted out and am hoping to remain conscious for the hockey game this afternoon... no guarantees though.

Sent Nanook an email with a link to this thread... see if he shares his knowledge.

Got an email reply..... he still has his ZR1 :)

he said this

copy and paste for you all to read

Best built in is Radenso/ALP jammers and best windshield is Uniden R3 or Radenso XP either of these with ALP..ALP has a new multi axis head you use in combo with one/two of the regular heads..Detector technology these days is not only measured by sensitivity but filtering performance…in Edmonton Radenso Pro-m may be essential for MRCD detection but Uniden may soon offer MRCD detection…all this counter measure stuff is so dynamic..

OH, MRCD is the new photo radar that old detectors don't detect.

Y do I like the nice stuff (read s H . i t )

anything for under a hundred bucks?????????

wifey wanted to get me a detector for xmas 2016 but I said never need it with the stig slow rolling it

got a ticket in the mail going to Edmonton just under the first overpass on 178 st I think

looking for the research in Alberta as there were no signs outlining bridges being used for photo radar and

I know that down by sylvan lake going to rocky mtn house in the south side of the lake there are signs of BEAR IN THE AIR,

i.e. plane radar so why not have signs of bridge radar might be illegal and I can fight it in the courts for minimal cost

have to decide by December 12th my court date rrrrrrrrrrrrrr Jeffy formerly known as stig eh for the purpose of tickets

An interesting read thanks all.
I spent several hours on the internet last night and came to the conclusion that every manufacturer makes the best radar detector..
After reading a ton of top tens list Escort came out the winner, followed closely by Beltronics which happens to be a division of Escort. Redenso was another popular brand. Top of the line units are $2000.00 plus. I don't want to spend that much. Escort has a few reasonably priced units $300 - $500 that have radar, laser, with all bandwith detection So does Beltronics. I'm leaning towards a Escort Max HD or X7.
I don't speed but it would be interesting to know where they're hiding out plus it's a gadget and I like gadgets.

Get yourself an Escort Rick. You’ll be fine if you drive half decently respectable. $2000.00 for a package?? Lol.

Believe it or not Mike things do get updated and actually do work. There is no way a 10 year old detection system would be viable today agreed. Lots of people demonstrating these different systems. Don't see a bunch of vids saying they do not work. The biggest issue now is the smart cruise control and anti-collision systems in the cars around you that set off a ton of false radar alerts... but there are high end detectors now filtering that out too.I think you get what you pay for from what I've seen.
I realize that Derek and agree, for the most part.

Unfortunately, I am seeing them sitting on the bridge decks more and more this past year. They got me on the 111st /Whitemud bridge in the summer coming home from work. First flipping ticket I got in the last 25 years, f--kers! Only good thing was that it was photo, so no demerits.
