I spent $6250 plus tax for full body PPF on my new 911 this summer at what was supposed to be the best shop in the GTA - The Refinery. It is a total butcher job (dirt, bubbles, adhesive lines) and a complete waste of money. This was my first and last PPF job!

That's a bad shop, or bad installer, not a bad product. You should have refused to accept the job and made the redo it.

I wish you would have asked me first. I would have waved my consultant's fee...

I was quoted $2600 for the track package by MOOJO. It include the entire front, windshield surrounding, mirrors, lower door and rockers, behind rear wheels and the door sills. 12 year garranty. Front emblam removal and reinstall. Decontaminated and clay barred before installation. The guy here has a good reputation. I plan to keep the car until I die so should I do it ?

I personally wouldn't want the logos removed. They can cut around them. They already protect the paint beneath. The price is within what others having been paying.

I have come to believe that PPF is there to satisfy ones level of OCD. Yes, it will protect against chips and other blemishes. And there is a 97.67% chance that you will never see your money back if you ever sell the car.

That said, I PPF'd my front end because I have a mild case of OCD.

PPF is useless, until your first stone chip then you curse and swear while standing there staring at it every day wondering why you just didn’t spend the money to protect the thing that brings you joy.
I think of PPF the same way I think of car insurance, I hate paying for it but when you need it, it’s there. I got the entire front part of the car covered in PPF including lights windshield and mirrors Then I ceramic coated the entire thing including rims and calipers, now nothing sticks not even brake dust, spray it down with the hose and it all washes off no real physical labor involved. In total it cost me $3000. No regrets well worth the money.

Get a sheet from Amazon or elsewhere, precut it yourself by using masking tape for templates. Some patience, spray bottle and a high quality set of silicone/non scratch squeegee. Will only cost you a fraction of what they charges you at the pro shop. Cheap enough that you can redo it every year if you wish?
Did this on my daily for the first time and it up well over the summer so far.

I will do this on my future C8 myself.

PPF is cheap compared to a respray . No idea what it would cost to get it back to factory quality, which some would argue is so so , but it would probably be scary . Day three after picking mine up I was on the Yellowhead heading west and the chip seal on that section was rotten. Caught a rock from a transport which tore a hole in the PPF right at the edge of the hood at the windshield but no damage to the paint. The rock hit the windshield but thankfully no chip. Maybe the PPF took enough energy out of it maybe not. If asked and it was in the budget I think I would recommend it. Don’t tell Jack for the Gods sake, lol .

For those adventurous persons. Precut and all. Still cheaper then $3k.
