Peace River N Da House - The arrival of Garry's VY 06 Z06

Good evening,

It is starting to sink in that the end game is beginning. I might even admit that I am feeling nervous about it.

Or should I be driving it like I'm trying to beat the Cobra or GTR, whoops, I think you mean I need to be driving it harder than that to clean out carbon and not just loafing along........!

Isn't this fun?! I will really miss having you guys out here for that moment but I'll make sure there is video to post - on YouTube for everyone to see the Z06 slaying all comers.

Cheers,

Garry

Watching this unfold has been very entertaining to say the least!! Sounds like a very crazy build but the best part is watching it get built right on all fronts for sure. I am anxious to see the numbers of course but most impressed with the choices made to bring reliability along with the power.

Good morning,

Much drama, my gf's daughter just had her bf break up with her (by leaving a note on the counter no less!) and told her he would be gone for the weekend and to get her stuff out by Sunday. So off to Calgary she is going to help her daughter move........

Then my son didn't pass two conseutive AR reading tests (he normally gets 5/5 on them) and I find out that his mother is not spending time to help him prepare for them........

THANK GOD I can come on this site and find something to give me cheer!

You guys just don't waste time and I know you've probably got a backlog of cars to do but it just seems to be flying together. I can see that I'll be having some of these pictures enlarged and framed to hang up in my office to give me that giddy feeling when I am not actually in the car itself.......

Great work guys and thanks for being a source of happiness in this day, I sure needed it. It looks like it would if I had bought the car new and ordered the assemble the engine yourself option to go to the factory - in that I get to see it happening to my own car at least and how many can say they've had that experience even if it just watching and not hands on.

Cheers,

Garry

Garry its our pleasure to bring a bright spot to your day :canada:

Garry,
I just had the pleasure of seeing the motor safely nestled in you car. Seeing the fresh milling marks on the intake side of the heads made me realize how serious your car is going to be.

Gentlemen,

Now I've gone from just feeling good to grinning like an idiot!

I am so jealous of you LSXtasy! I wish I could walk a few feet in your shoes and could be there in person myself! Maybe bring the crew Tim's or something............

It sounds so great.

Here's what I've been thinking about the build..........

"The Beast from the East becomes the Best in the West"!!

Thanks for the boost everyone, I sure needed this today.

Cheers,

Garry

I think Manny's going to set up a cot in the back for me. I've been there a lot lately. :D

There would certainly be a long list of places worse to be spending your time! I'm sure it would be therapeutic actually. Maybe see if you could angle the dyno screen to face the cot?

Sounds like lots of drama! I don't know the details of the break up but wouldn't it be funny if she just moved all his stuff outside and changed the locks?

Anyway, it's enough to deal with one's own problems not to mention taking on others too. Right now the only problem you should be thinking about is how awesome your car is going to be!

Good afternoon Riley,

I had actually considered that the daughter might do that, heave all the ex bf's stuff out in the snow but then again this is not her place that she is leaving and I'm sure she doesn't need the grief. The only hope is that she learns as this is the 2nd time she has ended up is a bad relationship. I always thought that women between the ages of 20 and 35 should not be allowed to be in relationships, it appears from my experience that only once they get into their mid to late 30's do they become capable of understanding what is really important in a mate. Mr. Hotty Excitement isn't long term material. Mr. Steady job, staying out of clubs and not flirting is the one to go for. By then, sadly, they might have a child or two and it appears that it is not the common way to go for men to be out looking for women who have children already for them to help support......will I get flamed on this posting! But we know that in a world of limited resources, men don't want their resources to be used to raise someone else's offspring, they want it to be used to their own instead. Thus why so many males in the animal kingdom, first thing they do when they take over the herd is kill all the previous males' offspring off...........bring the females back into heat and breed them themselves........

But fear not, thinking about being reunited with the car in a couple of months is something that is filling me with a lot of happy anticipation. I wonder what it will be like to go WOT the first time? I'll have to make sure that the camera's are positioned correctly. It will be a historical moment in my life!

I told my son that the GP boys have invited me to come down and to try my hand against this Mustang Cobra and I am starting to get hyped for it. They sound like a good group of fellows, just broader in their car tastes which is fine.

Good morning Manny,

At least the engine won't be backed up like its owner!! Actually 6 days of All-Bran took care of that finally.

Sure does look pretty though. Are those exhaust temperature sensors in the 3rd picture??

Kind of like not being aware I needed to change the clutch fluid frequently, I didn't know it had these.........interesting. Will I be able to get the exhaust temperature displayed if this is correct??

Cheers,

Garry

Garry , those are actually oxygen senors that read air fuel (AFR ) for the ECM.

Good morning Manny,

And yet again you have made this day worth living because I learned something new! I would have not been thinking that it measured this in the exhaust gases but on the intake side of things as well. I guess I really don't understand this at all........

Cheers,

Garry

In the most basic of explanations your primary O2's read how your engine is performing my measuring your air/fuel ratio. Secondary O2's measure how your cat(s) are performing for emissions. Fpr tuning purposes secondary O2's can be deleted to prevent "cat efficiency" codes. Hope that helps a bit.
Manny and Arun can get more in depth with this as this is their area of expertise. They are able to read how a car is running. This is also why tuning is so amazing and can be kind of a black magic. I'm blown away by the gains good tuning alone can reap.
