Coming from a non C8 er, Does your launch control act like a traction control and apply brakes to individual wheels to control spin? And do you have to shut off both the traction control and the stability control to use launch control? Perhaps just shut off both the TC and the SC and try launching with your brain and foot control instead of the automated launch control. There are many that say they get just as good if not better times the old fashioned way...

Certainly worth a try, but not sure it will help with wheel hop and will likely hurt the 60 foot.

Next time I am going to try that and a few other ways. Saturday was a big race day The Vermont fall finals. So I got only 4 races in and even that was lucky.

are we sure we all understand "wheel hop" the same way?
The expert told me it might have to do with the compound, too much or too little, affects take off. He says, it will not hurt, trying drag radials. Weird thing is, no wheel hop on certain roads/ asphalt. I have tested it on different streets/roads.

Wheel hop is basically always a result of intermittent tire traction. Unfortunately this can be caused by a number of things including tires, suspension and asphalt conditions. Like I mentioned earlier, I would certainly start with trying without any nannies activated and not using launch control. I would also not use track mode to allow the suspension to flex somewhat easier. Track mode does not make you faster in straight line racing. Also have a good look at tire pressure as reduced pressure can also cause intermittent traction. I raced an H modified Falcon a couple hundred years ago at Oyster Bed speedway and found increasing the tire pressure by 5 psi made a big difference in avoiding wheel hop and no difference in my times. It was a 10.2 second car when I could keep the front wheels on the ground...lol...

This is wheel hop in slow-mo. Watch the white lettering on the rear tires slow as the tires spin and then gain traction for a second and then spin again compressing and decompressing the suspension until constant traction is achieved and wheel hop stops.

So as long as this is what OP is experiencing it’s a simple traction issue and his times would be better if he avoided launch control. I personally never experienced that on the street in my non-z51

Ya, the spring flexing is a dead give away

I am going to try sport mode with traction on, Then off .As for track, I was told, that we get full power from the car, that way. Tires were at 30 pounds. Will test it many ways next time. Now I just finished cleaning it up.

I see it

If you're making a pass without launch control on, try squeezing down on the go pedal, don't hammer it down.

you were told wrong.

Non Z51, I was told, don't do that.
Who told you that? It has nothing to do with power except perhaps the exhaust valves opening, which can be set for either mode AFAIK.
