This is December 1st and we have so many show interest in this trip. This is great to see enthusiasm with fellow Corvette owners from across Canada.
Plus we have many interested from our Alberta "Non Corvette Club" (group, gaggle, swarm, flock)(Spence knows what I mean) Yeahhhhhhhhhhh.:Woohoo:

My cousin is RCMP and hates writing tickets. Her tolerance is very high for "speeding" or other tickets. You have to be dangerous before she'll light you up...... I get warnings dropping hers and "notorious" RCMP members that have a jokester rep, etc......... In general within BC they'll allow 10 to 20k over. I just slow to 10k over and have never had a ticket in BC...................................

I got nailed twice in BC years back within a couple hours. First was coming down the hill just before Fields and then again just leaving Revelstoke.
Now I don't speed at all in BC. Just unlucky I guess. lol

As tempting as it is on the “Coq”,RCMP from Merrit are all over that highway. At least in my recent travels down that road (2015,2016 trips to the coast) It is nice that the posted limit is 130 but sustained driving at 10/20 over that is going to eat up a lot of fuel and,you miss all the scenery !! Short bursts? Oh yeah but be careful. I found a nice 125/135 was fine. My Escort was going off a lot between Kamloops and Merritt.

The Coq is such a great road to open it up on too, but like you said the police are rather thick on it..

Hello Gang.

I have an update for you on the Meet in the Middle event in July. I have a CCF calendar event in draft and am just waiting for Nik to help me out with some of his hocus pocus website magic next week before I put it up.

So the update is:
  • Hotel is sorted and the 30 rooms are blocked. Reservations can be made at anytime now. I will post the flyer here for you.
  • The Friday dinner is organized in one of the banquet rooms across the parking lot at the Casino. (The hotel and casino are one entity)
  • Wayne is busy organizing the Autocross and we have made good progress. Wayne is finalizing a location adjacent to the hotel. I am in the process of designing the prizes now with a vendor.
  • The Show and Shine is coming together. Wayne is working on a location adjacent to the Autocross. I am working with the vendor on the prizes for this event as well.
  • The BBQ for Saturday evening is with Wayne and he is getting it organized. (This will be a short caravan trip as it is in a private rural location.)
  • The Sunday farewell breakfast is still being discussed but this will be an optional thing anyway. Might be bunches want to head out and have a group breakfast on the road instead. This we will play loose on and see what the people want to do.
  • There will be trophies for the 4 cars travelling the farthest from each direction. I am Working on these now with the vendor.
  • Name tags are being printed up.
  • T-Shirts and hats will be available to purchase specifically designed for the "Meet in the Middle" event. These are in design now with the vendor.
  • I have a commemorative plaque being designed for this event that will be available to purchase for any member joining us.
  • If Members want specific things... like Vests or Jackets let me know and we will likely be able to make it happen for them.
  • I will have photos showing color and size details and interactive order forms for these items on the event posting.

So in the coming days I will be rolling out the Event here on the CCF calendar. It will have all the registration details for the events and information on everything including pricing of the Shirts, hats and commemorative MITM plaque.

Thanks,

Derek

Hello from Winterpeg .. FYI Nice hotel. walking distance to a mall for the shopaholics. chevy dealership also block away . Several restaurants all within walking distance . The hotel also has good food and largest casino in town. Anyone hanging around for day or so there is one of the two best places to see cars about 2 blocks away. Meet every sunday night usually feature one of the citys car clubs. I also managed to get a keg of beer for the event, i have not told Wayne about yet. so Wayne now u know. Drove by the middle of canada sign again.. still no herd of vettes :)
