Nice work Derek and Wayne. Looking forward to it. Will be booking my room soon. As I only live 90 minutes away, I don't feel I should use one of the special block of rooms. I'll leave them for those travelling from afar. It's not a problem.

WhooHoo, Great Job Derek and Wayne! I will be booking our room shortly as well. Don't want to be left out in the cold, so to speak! Haha. Hey JamesP you leaving Nakusp a day early to link up with our Alberta crew to head east? Now we just need a layover hotel partway to Winnipeg for Eric to rest. LOL. Sorry Eric couldn\t resist!

hahahaha..... no problem Paul... I've done 14 hours before... and don't like it.... You guys are welcome to drive straight through.... Just think of the motel money you will save and how fresh you will be when you get there..... ;):p

Hello Gang.

I have an update for you on the Meet in the Middle event in July. I have a CCF calendar event in draft and am just waiting for Nik to help me out with some of his hocus pocus website magic next week before I put it up.

So the update is:
  • Hotel is sorted and the 30 rooms are blocked. Reservations can be made at anytime now. I will post the flyer here for you.
  • The Friday dinner is organized in one of the banquet rooms across the parking lot at the Casino. (The hotel and casino are one entity

Do you know if the Hotel is prepared to give us a dedicated parking area Derek ? (or Wayne) ?

Yes use one of the rooms we have set aside. We can get more rooms if we need them.
.... unless you were after the Honeymoon suite. Which of course is very good too.

Yes Eric we will have a special parking arrangement of some kind. Wayne is on that one. It’s tough for the hotel to allocate this now as the number of cars is not yet determined. There will be a large group of local cars as well and many may stay the weekend with us. He has a couple options for this he is working with.

Hi Derek, Wow, this is a alternate career that a couple of you have going here. Impressive

Is it intended for you to blend in the logistics of the West Cruise to Winnipeg prior to the July 13th start?
Maybe there are a subset of planners to help ...
Reason for asking is that I see some may be thinking of a link-up of BC & AB in Calgary (might be the night of Wed, July 11th?).
Then heading out Thursday morning for a two-day cruise (Trans-Can from Calgary-Regina-Winnipeg) arriving in Winnipeg on Friday afternoon/evening?
I'm just being curious at this point ....

It's early of course, however since I am in Calgary, I can maybe offer assistance. I may be able to search accommodation options
(likely out-of-the-way). This because it will be Stampede Week ... not necessary having streets full of staggering urban cowboys, but there may be
some accommodation locations to avoid any near-by Calgary Stampede shenanigans.

If not yourselves, whomever is looking into and/or pre-planning the logistics of the West Cruise to the Middle, can feel free to contact me ....
May need some "underling" assistants for each of the legs BC-to-AB and AB-to-SK and SK-to-MN ...
No worry, no hurry, I'm here in Cowtown :Pistolsmiley: ...

Cheers!
:Cheers2:

The planning for MITM is quite involved with Wayne and I working on different aspects and coordinating between us. Therefore I had not anticipated organizing the meetups as the cars gather and travel toward Winnipeg.
Agreed this is a good idea and from the West I'm positive someone (Spence, et al) will step up and coordinate this. I will be happy to join up when the caravan passes through Edmonton.
Now we need one of the guys from the East, North and South to do the same.

so what days do we book the woom for?

Jeff

and who is drying the team repair vehicle?

Jeffer... the 13th (Friday) and the 14th is likely what most are doing. The events are planned for the 14th.
Sunday the 15th will be a breakfast, farewells and the cruise back in all directions for most.

Thought the new Camaro in your yard would be the repair runner. After all it has all the space in the back seat and trunk for parts / jacks, spare wheels etc. But I expect you will be driving the Corvette right? :canada:
