They told you BS Jeff as I have been booked for 2 weeks already.
sorry if I misstated they said you and I are the only ones booked at this time, and you had been booked for a while sorry mate

just concerned that if a few of us do not book soon when they review the status it looks like maybe there is a little less interest than what there is
just trying to help motivate folks to sign up
will try to get garth and pam up to date and the other guy with the almost teenager

Jeff

With over six months to go, I'm guessing they won't get too excited for a while yet. And as I had mentioned earlier in this thread, approx. 50% of the Lake Louise run members didn't actually commit until 2 or 3 weeks before the go date. I might get around to booking before I leave for south but otherwise it will be later in February before I pull the trigger.

I think Mike was finally going to Joon the forum ranks Jeff. I sent him the info on the trip and talked with him just before Christmas. He’s excited about the trip.
I will be booking shortly!

He should be excited to join the forum as well Paul... I hear those transportation engineering types have lots of free time during the day to surf the internet... :p

Things are starting to roll.
I’m waiting to release the event announcement along with Niks rollout of CCF V2 as he has some new functionality that will help streamline things for us. MITM will be one of his mad scientist prototype projects with this dark secret internet stuff.

No pressure Nik...

Brenda and I are booked... Gave the group number. She said the group will be scattered all over so I opted for a king bed instead of the two queens. She said there was room to park the Vette in the room as well if I upgraded..... 190 days and counting people...

go to Calgary or head east on hiway 16 Jeff

Logistics will need to be refined once we know whether there will be a BC contingent arriving in Calgary to go East ...
Should the cruise head out from Edmonton along #16, I (Calgary) will need to plan for that ...
No worries either way ... but I imagine it will hinge on our committed friends West of Alberta

(to reverb per previous message ... it's Stampede Week in Calgary for Accommodation considerations)

So Far its still a go, will book my room soon. As I'm leaving from Nakusp its around a 6 hr drive to Calgary, and not sure how much farther I would drive in 1 day. Anyone know of any area outside Calgary that may be a good stop, that wouldn't have stampeders filling up the rooms :WillyNilly:

There are a few of us in the middle, so I guess either way works for us.

This will be interesting .... The run to say... Moose Jaw from either Edmonton or Red Deer is about the same at 7.5 hours. From Calgary it's a bit quicker at 6.75 hours. Departure as a complete group from either Edmonton, Red Deer or Calgary adds time on for the out of town drivers. Red Deer is give or take 1.5 hours from either Calgary (Hwy 1) or Edmonton (Hwy 16). No biggie there but for the north and south cars to meet in Red Deer does equate to 9 hours total of drive time...no stops. That is if Moose Jaw or near there is considered as a central stopover point. Out of Calgary (Hwy 1) or Edmonton (Hwy 16) adds the same 1.5 hours or so on for Red Deer drivers but it adds closer to 4 hours for either of the other cities, more if you are west of Edmonton or South of Calgary. If ultimate efficiency was the only consideration, the Alberta contingent would leave as three groups and meet in Moose Jaw for the last leg into Winnipeg.

Then we throw drivers from west of the Rockies into the mix and consider what they will be thinking.... Vancouver to Moose Jaw is 17 hours through Calgary, or just over 19 through Jasper and Edmonton or about 18 staying south through Medicine Hat.

Those are just numbers as it's way too early to tell what will take place. If the poll is any indication, 70% of the yes vote from the west still has to speak up and throw their thoughts and ideas into the mix.... Lots of time .... Lots of time.... :canada:

That was a bit of information to sift through Ruff but after many calculations using both fingers and toes and a lil conversation with Dr Google, Its only 649 km to red deer. If it works I would be willing to camp out there and travel with a group from there. If not there's still lots of time to figure out the best route. :canada:

... I dunno James.... I know Calgary and the immediate area fills up pretty early with Stampede bookings. The Stampede draws over a million people every year and I would bet a good chunk of these are out of towners. Spence may be able to comment on this... so far he's the only Calgary member committed I think..... (I meant committed in a good way Spence).... Cochrane is just west of Calgary...Not sure if Stampede fills it too or not... I guess key if you're gonna stay near Calgary would be early booking for sure....
