Featured got my build week today

No its an option as Damo mentioned. My 15 3LZ didn't have it.

You should see it listed in the option on your window sticker.

It appears as an option but I thought that it was included automatically with the 3LZ package. Here's a photo of my window sticker, so unless there is something else (I don't think so) I guess that I did get the carbon dash/steering wheel as an option!

So you're both correct......it's an option.... a couple of different ways of adding it, either directly or with selection of jet black premium seats.....ha ha. ....$1,895.00....regardless....I'm glad I have it!

Yes, definitely you got the dash included your mini option package when you added "leather Sueded Microfibre Inserts"

Same thing on my car. Although a different mini option package called
"Black Suede Design Package" and it had the carbon fibre dash in the group too.

There is a ton of combinations and colours and materials for people who have the patience to understand it all and make these decisions.

Cool dash! Like it! As I say I was on the fence with that and the hood insert.

Did you opt for any of the front and side splitter options? Painted carbon flash or exposed carbon fibre?

It seems we both like "Carbon Fibre"......dah who wouldn't.....however we also both opted for different carbon fibre options.

I still had a somewhat angry wife when I originally ordered this car........I caught her at a week moment, after badgering her for about 8 months hard on a purchase. i was initially pushing for a 2018 model but time past and next thing I knew only 2019 models were available to order.

Well after getting a "go buy the f......... thing", I went and ordered it the very next day at the dealer. That didn't take any time at all because, like I had built the car a hundred times on the GM website. I didn't have the nerve to tell my wife that I ordered the car for five days, followed with she wouldn't speak to me for about three weeks (she's stubborn), but after that she came around ha ha. .......anyhow when I placed my order I really already exceeded my limit that I was prepared to spend, so although I would have liked the carbon fibre options you have chosen, they would have really put me over what my wife would tolerate me spending..ha ha...

Then I started talking with "Derek" and he advised me that if my build was not in the 3000's yet that I could still modify my order. He made it quite clear to me that I had to have the dual roof option, inclusive of the "carbon fibre roof", so I added it.........this put me in the danger zone if I was to add any thing more ha ha.........so now you have it!

The only other option I chose was the carbon flash painted mirrors and rear spoiler. I wanted the black exterior mirrors and black rear spoiler to complement my "black" badging!

Ddgermann,
Nicely optioned car! Wow!
Cobra,
You too have a nicely optioned ride!
I would have liked to have gotten a few more things added; however, I had a certain budget I wanted to be within. If I would have opted for the 2LZ, then I would have picked the carbon fibre dash and hood insert. But since I really wanted the 3LZ interior, I had to nix my want for the dash and insert. I like the suede inserts as well, BUT knowing me, I would have gotten Cheesie stains all over the steering wheel!

Yes, Cheezie orange is a bugger to get out of the suede wheel wrap. I found that out coming back from MITM last summer. :Banghead:
My first 3LZ didn't have the suede and certainly was easier to clean up. Although now that I'm used to it the Alcantara is worth the extra care. But frankly we are not going animal with milkshakes and poutine in these cars anyway...are we? 🤣
The carbon fibre dash piece can be added later for reasonable $ as well as a bunch of very nice other aftermarket interior trim pieces.
The hood insert is nice but frankly, unless you are completely irrational about having it (like me), there are some very very nice matte/gloss decals with Jake etc on them that are really fantastic. Plus you could vinyl the carbon fibre look onto it for a hell of a lot less than that hood insert option cost.
I think you made the right decision going with the 3LZ interior trim as lots of these little options can be added later.

Great point re: poutine....I save the in-car food and beverage for my little Verano! 😄

I hear you on the after purchase add ons. The ones I will be immediately interested in will be: a) rear wicker bill, and b) winglets on the front splitter. I opted for the Stage 2 exposed carbon fibre splitters. From what I read, you can add the rear wicker and winglets to give it that Stage 3 Z07 look. Love that look.

"go buy the f......... thing"

.....One of the things we learn about women through life's lessons........."go buy the f......... thing","Do whatever you want", "Fine", "I'm almost ready", and "I'm not mad"..... They mean the exact opposite...

Major announcement coming out of Bowling Green Assembly Plant tomorrow.........likely that they have reopened the plant for purchase and photo tours!

If that's the case, then I'm going to be really upset that they moved my car build up early.....it wasn't supposed to have been built until May 06th. Ha ha........any other thoughts on what this big announcement will be?

If the c8's are on the line, I don't think tours will be running until the official release.

Interesting.......this would possibly account for the early build of my car as well as what seems to be a contingent of Canadian builds recently going through the line.....as well I'm sure they would want to build up a large supply of stock of the C-8's, because the worst thing to happen to GM would be having orders for the C-8 only to loose customers wanting one on release date and having none available!

Question, I thought that the Z06 automatically comes with the smallest (cheapest) version of side skirt trims and front chin spoiler....from the factory I have none. Is this something that is a dealer install and not factory installed?

When I build the car on the GM website it shows the car with these side skirts as well as the front chin spoiler (rubber). Again any ideas if the dealer installs them or they are optional?

So, found out my Z06 was built yesterday. It currently has an Event Code of 4B00 - Bayed. My dealer told me he received the invoice from GM, and expected delivery date is May 6.

My car was built on April 11th and it arrived at the dealer April 22nd, so I would think that the estimate is of your delivery is correct......you'll have to post some photos of your car when it arrives.
