Winter Add Ons

As input by Spence - carbon flash is a metallic paint finish. Axe, your stinger is longer than mine so must get that fixed with a little hood surgery this summer. Whoever optioned out my car did not know their a$$ from their elbow. With a carbon fibre stinger they should not have selected the body colour vents option. Then I would not have stinger envy.

On a black car there is a marked difference between the carbon fibre stinger and the carbon flash extractor vent. That needed to be addressed. On an arctic white car like that of AXEZ06 it does not appear to be a stark difference.

The CCF admin will need to appoint an adjudicator to determine who will ultimately win the carbon fibre contest between you and Spence.

Oh perhaps a CCF Intervention as there's no competition ... just Wine.
I parked mine too close to Derek's at
Meet-in-the-Middle followed by the Cold Lake Air Show
... and it caught the Exposed Carbon Fibre Rash ...

It only takes a few minutes to see most things changed on my car here in this thread. Admittedly there are a few things that didn’t make the thread. But you know about those very well.
You’re catching up fast Spence.

@Vanguard2001
Sorry to be dense here but what’s a “stinger”? Hood insert?

Oooooooo. I like that!
Gives me an idea...
thanks for setting me straight on that Spence.
Oh I hope I don’t regret that ...
I love that exposed carbon fibre “reverse stinger” on that awesome “Black Purl” of yours

“Reverse” in that the exposed carbon fibre was masked for the paint versus it being a simulated carbon fibre “stick-on” stinger.

sidenote:
... “black purl” is what I think of with D’s Z ... it’s not a paint color

I can’t wait to do this later. It’s raining today ... close enough
Spent a few days parking beside Derek’s and so .... more REAL carbon fibre ....

... and yes I did follow @turbozig advice and I cleaned all the dirt out of the crevices one doesn’t see.

New rear carbon fibre bezels

New ones need grills ... I had exotic CarGear supply me with theirs as I am going to match the grill type that is on my rear quarter real carbon fibre vents (to be installed in the near future) ... ya ya I know @ddgermann ... I just couldn’t use the GM plastic/rubber grill off the factory bezels (my OCD “spence’ism”)

Exotic CarGear recommended JB Weld Steel Stick Epoxy Putty (spot-weld first and then finish up the rest after about 5-10 minutes (had lunch instead )

Posted this while patiently waiting 2 hours for the epoxy weld to cure before installing these new real CF bezels on my c7 ... will post final result later ... tick tock tick tock ... still lots of time left to wait ... time for a

OCD wins again @SN-III

Yes definitely agree on the epoxy glue. It’s the same glue I used on mine.

Nice job Spence
Look forward to seeing them installed.

Obtained 3 different rolled materials for fixing up wheel center caps in ... yyssw ... carbon fibre effect
I originally put the matte on mine (the left cap) but am considering one of the two glossy that might match the roof panel and vents a bit better ... ... hmmm

I’m kinda liking the right for mine and I’m pretty sure @ddgermann would like the more black in the middle. I’m looking for black rings too and then decide.

They look great Spence. With your chrome wheels... nice
I went with this matte finish. Seems to be ok as the gloss painted part matches the black body and the carbon fibre is a different colour on the car. The matte black carbon fibre matches the wheels that are in a satin not gloss black.
Seems to work... well I’m satisfied with it anyway.
For those wondering, the vinyls available for our cars is really high quality and easy to work with. I modified and put these center caps on this year. There is a reference on how to do it above. Trip to Vancouver with a day of driving rain and a cruise to YYC area with Mike and the gang... 4 touchless car washes and a few HP wand jobs. They are intact and no worse for the wear. So do not be concerned about getting these vinyls. These come in all corvette colours with crossed flags and Jakes for all generations.

If my vote counts, I like the center one.
