Well I worked on my car on Saturday and I just found out the differential gear is 3:55 so it's stock. I counted the teeths on the gears and it's a 32 : 9 so it's a 3:55. I bought some heavy duty yokes last year so I am going to bring the differential for a rebuilt and powercoated this week. I received my parts from corvette central on Friday. I got my new 7 leaf rear springs last month.

Update: I finally removed both rear trailing arm this week and let me tell you that it was a huge pain in the ass. The bolts were all seized on both trailing arms. I had to remove the shims on both sides which they were seize as well and I used a sawzall to cut the bolts out. I used a big ass cutters to cut the emergency brake cable since it was rusted too. The brake line were also all rusted so I ordered a new set of stainless steel brake line and a new emergency brake cable kit. I ordered a new gas tank kit will everything including the fuel sender and a brand new fuel pump. I found the original built sheet on top of the gas tank with a small mirror tool that I have and I am excited to drop the gas tank. I got a lot of brand new parts from Corvette Central so far and I cannot wait to have the car back on the road soon. I also picked up 10 cans of John Deer Blitz black paint for the frame.

Making great headway SlyMart. Sounds like one of those truly nasty jobs cutting the bolts with the saws all, that is one tool I really don't like working with.

Big thumbs up. It will be back on the road before you know it.

I will upload some pictures to make this topic more interesting.. Here is some pictures of the rear trailing arm before and after..

Here is parts that I have bought in spring and some when I bought my corvette. I bought a new rear 7 leaf spring since my car came with the Gymkhana suspension. I also bought rear sway bar bushings too.

Today I was able to drop the gas tank and like I said before the built sheet was on top of the gas tank and I was able to grab it. The built sheet was very dusty and after cleaning it I just found out my 78 Pace Car came from Campbell Chevrolet LTD. in Sudbury Ontario. The address is 250 Frood Road and I just checked on Google map and the dealer is no longer there. The place is vacant and it's for sale. bummer..

Yesterday I went to Canadian Tire and bought myself a Mastercraft multi-crafter kit and it removes the undercoating on the frame pretty easily.

| Canadian Tire

When I was using the multi-crafter tool on the frame last night there was some surface rust underneath the undercoating. I guess that some people uses rubberize undercoating on their cars to hide rust lol.
My car was oil sprayed and undercoating was used.. I hate having that kinda stuff on my car especially when you work on it and parts of your body and your clothes are ruined because of it..
Anyways I will keep you guys posted and I will take pictures of my current work and share it with you guys. :)

So this weekend I was grinding a piece of frame since and I will do a small section at a time. When I grind the frame at bare metal it doesn't take long for the rust to come back. So I painted a section yesterday with John Deer Blitz Black paint and I really like it. Today After work I will start on the back frame but I think I will remove the back bumper with the spoiler to access the back frame. I want to replace every screw and there is a metal plate that is right behind the bumper I couldn't find a replacement part for it. So I will bring it to get it powercoated.

Sly....
Lookin' good.. Great pics.
It's good to hear you are willing to remove the rear bumper it opens up a whole area and will allow you to do a much better job. You may also be able to locate your build sheet on the top of the tank!
I did a write-up a while ago on the rear bumper replacement on my '75 coupe.
1975 Rear Bumper Cover Gone Bad!

It may give some insight as to what to expect in there.

Take your time with all the little threaded studs that hold the bumper cover in-place. They can be tedious.
Some Liquid Wrench applied a couple of days prior may help these come apart easier.
Occasionally the cover bracket assemblies need replacement, depending on where your car has been.

Thanx
Graham

I already found my built sheet when I dropped my fuel tank. :) If you go back on the previous page of this thread you will see pictures of my built sheet. Thanks for the info and the picture. This weekend I sprayed all the screws that holds the rear bumper and spoiler with PB Blaster. :)

Hey guys,

I was able to remove my rear spoiler and my rear bumper this weekend and it wasn't that hard at all.. I took my time and carefully made sure that I don't break anything along the process.

Yesterday I removed more rear parts so I can access the rear frame. I was thinking about using the Eastwood internal frame coating to make sure that the inside of the frame doesn't rust.

So this weekend I concentrated on my car since I was very busy with our old house (over 100 years old) and it's getting there. there is alot of work to be done on it and it will take some time.. I started painting the rear frame and I will take some pictures and post it for you guys to see where I am at..

I am also looking at the frame body mount and asking myself if I should do it. I did some research and I know where they are located (8 of them) Is it really easy or complicated? At least the rear end of the C3 is completely gone and it may be an advantage to replace them. I know you can lift one side of the car but I want to know if it's hard or easy??
