So Who Bought a 2015 Corvette in Canada?

If you ordered in February and your order is not accepted yet.... I would be a bit concerned. Have you the GM Worksheet printout ?

I originally ordered in October from Davis Chevrolet just to find out they lied to me and never had Allocation to begin with. I'm # 2 on CMP's list to get a 2015 z51 Coupe right now.

Can only cross my fingers.

Yes I have my print out at home with the prelim order # (if you can even call it that). I need to see my dealer once they "officially" get the pricing and options for the 2015 in their Autobook and be sure of everything I want, and confirm an price adjustments.

Same thing happened to me. Once I threatened to call OMVIC they very quickly came up with a car.

Are they a big Corvette dealer? That is a huge factor in the purchase. If I remember in my search the two Calgary dealers who I spoke two (looking for the Z06) were Jack Carter and Shaganappi??? It is all in how you feel about your dealer (says the guy who doesnt drive a Vette yet). I moved away from what some might many tout as being the largest Vette Dealer in Canada because... well the relationship just wasnt right between us.. It was a feeling. Now I am with a smaller dealer in Quebec and still havent a clue whether I will have a Vette this coming Spring... I trust them and don't have that questionable feeling though which is everything to me. I feel good about the purchase now; I didnt before.

Greetings All,

I just recently placed an order with Owais at Gateway. I wanted to chime in to first of all say how informative this forum has been as part of my research into my purchase. It's unfortunate that the order process is as lengthy and complicated as it is in Canada, but learning about allocation and delivery is a must and this forum was indispensable.
Also, it led me to Owais who has been a no-nonsense sales professional in all my dealings with him so far. This after a wasted morning at my local dealership where they tried to nickel and dime me as if I was buying a stripper Cruze.
I always thought I would end up with a Cayman, but after sitting in this car, reading reviews and seeing what Chevrolet has done in terms of design and performance, the decision became easy.

Joe

Ordered a 2015 z51 March 2/14. I was told last Thursday the car is in transit between BG and Windsor. Maybe this week at the dealer or not. I'm not holding my breath.

JB08, Joe welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new Corvette.

Owais has always sounded very professional on this board and I am pleased to see your confirmation that indeed he is.

Post up some pictures when you get a chance.

:agree: Great to hear everything worked out well and post up some pics when your ride come in!

Same for you tyho. We expect pics when your ride shows up. :D

@JB08: Thanks a lot for your kind compliments!

Anyone else here who is still on the fences and looking to place your factory order for a 2015 C7?

Picked up my 2015 C7 Convertible last night. A crystal red beauty with chrome rims, black leather interior, black top, upgrade exhaust (you just got to order this option), NAV with recorder, rear Z51 colour matching spoiler kit (makes the car look much better), and a few other bells and whistles. Been waiting since January 2014 for this car. It was built on August 18 and arrived at the dealership in Oshawa on Tuesday Sept 2. OMS in Oshawa was excellent to deal with. They even gave me a bit of a break on the price. There is also a $750 loyalty discount currently available from GM that applies to Corvettes. See Trevor at OMS if you want to order a Vette. He was great to work with and kept me up to date as the car progressed along the order chain. The car is well worth the wait. It replaces my 2009 Shelby GT500 convertible.

Very nice !! I like the Crystal Red :)

By the way notice much Orange Peel on the side panels. Mine has quite a bit, if you don't look closely it won't bother you much. I may end up wet sanding mine next spring to flatten out the clear coat.

You probably don't want to hear what I pay, mine is a segregated policy and very cheap based on the group it insures. My 'Vette runs about $750 a year and that includes 12 month coverage, I intend to suspend collision in the winter so that will get cheaper. It does include a mandatory $1k deductible which according to my company is not negotiable for the C7.

I should mention it is not a daily driver, less than 10k a year, recreational use only. Sits in a garage , store it in the winter. Have full replacement value as well but I think it goes out only 3 yrs.

This is my order # - anybody have the ability to track these? The online chat just gives me the run around and can't tell me what status code I am.

So sick of waiting for this thing!

If your not getting an answer on the chat line then go back to your dealer/sales guy or escalate to a manager over the phone at the GM call center. That's about the only way to get at what you want for a Cdn. The tracking site on the web is for U.S orders only.

Very nice looking car! Congrats

Very nice... I would be curious to know what insurance is costing if anyone minds answering?

I pay 1200/year, 1000/deductible and for 5 years, full new replacement no depreciation. Also will reduce in winter which will save $60/month, while it's off the road.

Conditions are a big factor, location (detached home in suburbs), only 2 drivers in household, is a 3rd fair weather car, is garaged, plan on driving only 8,000 km year

I pay about $900 per year with TD Molche Monex. This is based on occasional recreational driving...so not to work and normally keeping it garaged at night. This includes accident forgiveness, $1,000 deductible and new car replacement for 5 years. We both have clean driving records.
