Good luck on the discount, it is now happening in the US on 2016 models and I suspect will start in Canada i the fall. You might be able to strike something on a 2016 that is still on the lot in September or October or if you are lucky in later August as the first 2017 models should be being delivered in Canada next week or the week after and they will be in short supply until September particularly coupes with the manual transmission which will not start production until mid August or Z06s which will not start production till the early fall. I see from a post here that a dealer in Edmonton is offering a small discount on some 2016s that are currently on the lot. From what I am seeing the 2016 models on the lots often have an odd combination of options that I have no interest in. Options are such a personal thing it is very hard to predict what purchasers might want. Personally, I am not interested in getting a $3000 discount on a model that has a carbon fiber roof insert that adds $2000 plus tax on the option list. When I was exploring trading my 2014 Z51 I researched all over Southern Ontario and Western Quebec and couldn't find a single discount other than several agreed to waive the "documentation" charge. The other critical consideration if ordering a new 2017 is the dealer's allocation. If the dealer does not have a history of substantial Corvette sales they may have a very low allocation and you could wait until November or December for a new unit - just in time to put it into storage. Probably your best bet is to get a better price on the value of your trade in. That is what I ended up looking for and was reasonably successful after all the difference is what is critical. However, in order to get that deal I had to turn in my 2014 Z51 back in May and I don't expect my 2017 GS to be here till September. Good luck, the C7 is a game changer in Corvette development. I had 36,000 km on mine when I traded it in May.
