This is time to protest an incompetent government and leaderl Why don't you join us, the list of breaches and dishonesty, takes many pages. If you don't know, just check out what this Liberal Government has been doing to all Canadians, with their leader being mainly responsible. Worst PM in Canadian history.

Not to mention the direct impact on ALL of us from a ban of any ICE car sales in 2035. So...without THIS discussion TODAY, the existance of ANY CAR FORUM will be redundent 12 short years after the election. Well..except for Tesla sites, etc.

Remember everyone, they are all out to find new ways to spend the governments money. And that is the BIG problem. It is our money that we worked for and are, I believe, willing to part with some of it to administer this country.
I am all for welfare, "un"employment insurance. health care, daycare, pharmacare and maybe even some other things. What I am against is the wanton spending of our collective monies (sometimes referred to as taxes) on those that do not need it or do not merit it. Hearing that someone cannot find a job for ten years and is still collecting seems a bit overboard for me. And the welfare bums that spend the cheques on video terminals and then complain they don't have enough money for food. Lets find the ways to ensure that someone, and I don't give a $hit which stripe they are, will come out and say what really needs to be done.
And it is not just the Libs and JT. Seems to me I can remember another former PM getting a brown envelope for services rendered.

Unfortunately this is just another money dump to appease and sway the voters that may still be on the fence. The system is the problem and 6.5, 20.5 or 40.5 billion will not fix the ineptness of the abundance of overpaid upper administration that care little for the problems that exist 300 steps down the bureaucratic ladder from where they dwell. Yes, another 6.5 billion that isn't coming out of the liberal party's pocket has been announced without any reasoning, study, or idea of how this money will be used for improvement. Without a plan you may just as well throw the taxpayer's money up into the wind....Oh wait... You already are.

Anyone running an account of how much money is being thrown out by each party?
And how much more they want to kill the system with more red tape taxes on those who worked to build up their businesses?
Theoretically, the money thrown around by each party is not coming out of taxpayer's pockets and is theirs to throw as they wish. It's public money that is thrown out by the governments in power that trouble me much more. Without cuts in spending and waste, taxes on everyone will be inevitable to keep the Country out of either bankruptcy or having to our souls to a very large Asian country that has no qualms about buying our debt in the interest of someday just taking everything we have.

True that companies do pay taxes as well but still a lot of their profits come out of our wallets.
I propose that we eliminate all taxes except the GST. Then we would really see the cost of government. No income tax (after all it was a temporary measure to pay off WW1 debt), no excise tax, no duties, etc. etc. Probably wouldn't work but is is a good thought.
And as to all those claims by the indigenous peoples. Lets sit down with them and settle up to finally get the crap off the table (lawyers wouldn't like that). Once that is all done then inform them that they are fully Canadian citizens and get to pay taxes as well. Don't think that would work either but it is a nice thought.
Problems are not only at the federal level but down through the prov. and muni levels as well.
NO ACCOUNTABILTY
Fiscal accountability and management is severely lacking in all levels of government. Politicians give themselves raises, expense accounts that would sink a major corporation, pensions that we can only dream of and endless perks that "we" the people pay for through many years of working and paying a plethora of taxes. JT has taken spending to a whole new level. The Liberals have doubled the debt that will somehow need to be repaid. Not in my lifetime, and likely not in my kids' lifetime. I understand the Covid pandemic has effected government spending, BUT when the same government is handing out hundreds of millions to other countries and tells our vets "they're asking for more then we can give", that just doesn't sit well with me. I've lost count on how many billions have gone over-seas to other corrupt governments. JT has an agenda that will undermine Canadians and the men and women that made this the greatest country in the world. Disarm the civilians, censor their thoughts and free speech, control their movement, tax them so they have no money, and voila, we're now a communist, socialist dictatorship.
Maggie was a huge pot head. Probably why JT made it legal so she wouldn't get arrested. LOL. Yeah we have loads of pot shops in our town too while restaurants and other stores are closing. Makes no sense. People I know that use don't buy from stores. They buy from their regular dealer or grow their own. Why go to a store that is taxed heavily just to hand that extra money over to the government?
One has to be careful about getting rid of all this "socialist" crap. Anyone ready to step up to the plate and say to scrap medicare, welfare, and now daycare? Not to mention EI, farm subsidies, industry subsides, etc, etc They are all socialist in nature.
And are not police, fire depts, garbage collection, water/sewage treatment not "commune"ist undertakings?
It is the accountability that is lacking. How are our dollars and nickels (no more sense) being spent. Just how much is being syphoned off to pay someone's vacation cottage/boat/car.
How much money was wasted down in Haiti after the earthquake 11 years ago. Millions just disappeared. And millions disappear here as well through poor planning and no need to account for the money spent.
As to gun control I am willing to have my rights trampled a bit so i do not need a handgun because the neighbour is not to my liking. Or his car is the wrong colour. And if you need an AK47 to shoot deer then maybe your money would be better spent on an eye exam.
Not against guns for hunting. You need to tell me why a howitzer is necessary to get the job done. You justify it, I'll agree with you. Until then a single shot with a 5/6 magazine should be more than enough. We've seen enough of what warped minds can do with military style weapons down south and unfortunately a few times here. Mind you Dirty Harry did a pretty good job with his cannon. But that was a handgun.

For sure. I don't think you will get any arguments here on your points. For decades Canada maintained a reasonable social and economic balance with Capitalism and Social "priorities", regardless of the leading party. Present day, the Liberal attitide has swung dramatically left from this balance where it seems that the economics of every social policy decision, regardless of size, do not factor into the discussion and the policy making.
It seems to me that we are a small nation and have limited $$ resources relative to meeting the "needs" of far too many causes and groups in Canada and ironically the apparent needs of international causes. Cry some tears into the liberal cup and they magically turn into cash. I understand that we have a responsibilty to be part of the international community...NATO, Economics, climate change...These are all real issues that are important to me but WTF??? WE simply do not have the $$ to continue this trend of spending, when our own basic social programs are becoming a s**t show.
