Edmonton this am
a few boxes of ballots all filled in for liberal candidate WOW
in a riding they hope to win
liberals say it was done by conservatives to rig election problems
delivered by private courier who says
I KNOW NAW-TING
thanks you liberal fools
will happen in various risings I am sure
And you heard this on Facebook Jeff? Must be true....

If this is a legitimate story, please post your link. If not, well.....

We have come to the place in Canada where we are now voting for the politician or party who will do the least harm, not provide the best governance. Our fault. Why is the current PM, with three ethics violations, multiple blackface admissions, and several questionable sexual harassment claims, even on the ballot?
Agreed, but we came to that place many many years ago Al.

My buddy called me from inside the election office instead of calling a lawyer
got into a scuffle and cops took him away
released later if he agreed not to post his encounter on facebook

Unless I'm slow today and missing a whole wallop of sarcasm let's pull back on the my buddy stories.

It is a very slippery slope to go down and a first step to destroying a democracy when you doubt the process. Step and think twice before speculating. I have worked a couple of elections in the polling station and it is very, very hard to stuff ballot boxes in our voting system these days. There are just way too many people that would have to be in on it and a lot of checks in the system to follow. Not to mention that a candidate representative has the right to check the ballot boxes and sign the seal. There are other checks but suffice it to say I much prefer the antiquated paper system we use to anything else that is used elsewhere. Elections Canada is absolutely paranoid when it comes to security and closing the loop.

There are very strict procedures in a polling station and the poll supervisor does have the right to have someone removed from the poll station if they are taking pictures or interfering with someone's INDEPENDENT right to vote. There is more that can get you removed but I am not going to list them here (never been a supervisor so I don't know them all). Hearsay is only scratching the story. There are always three sides to a story; mine, yours and the truth. If Jeffer2013's story has any semblance of truth to it, you can be absolutely sure there is a report filed with Elections Canada.

I also was the returning officer for a county and provincial election in alberta 20 odd years ago, easy to stuff ballots into box before voting starts
ot saying it happened here, just letting you know I have more than a little background in elections and riding associations

some local do’s call me when there is a problem rather than waiting on hold for elections Canada phone numbers provided to ro’s

Then Jeffer2013, I would suggest you go at it again and let me know how easy it is these days compared to 20 years ago. Don't want to come across as wrong, but I am interested to know if we have improved or are just stuck in the mud. I have also been involved in provincial elections and riding associations so we both have some knowledge of the system.

Well fellows Vetters. It's official....The Government and Canadian citizens will awake tomorrow in exactly the same place as we were in yesterday. Except 610 million dollars poorer and once again, the party who did not win the majority of popular Canadian vote will have won the election by 30 some odd seats. But the East has spoken very clearly that they did not want change, whatever that change might have been and are happy with their current party and leader. Sadly though, we will be going through this all over again two years from now. Such a waste of our time.

Tomortow will likely be no different than the day before … run by the clown who claims to know the country best … 😂

Confederation is broken. Eastern stranglehold on everything west of Thunder Bay. The east coast has been bought and paid for by the Liberal party and rewards the Liberals for our generosity. The Bloc runs only a
Quebec race in a federal election. The GTA does what it always does.

Tyranny of the majority.

This result, although seemingly innocuous, will only serve to strengthen the growing divide and will hasten Alberta’s (and potentially Saskatchewans), official push to seek a “new deal”. All Trudeau accomplished with this election is to further polarize vast areas of the country.

Now it gets interesting…

Evening plans for 2 years from now sorted 🤣

Definitely looking like not much will change from today other than the date.

Lots will change…higher carbon tax and more restrictions on legal firearm owners. Just to name two. Trudeau in charge with the NDP holding the balance of power. What could possibly go wrong?

In terms of seats which is what matters when getting things done there's what appears to be little to no material change, Libs looks like they'll gain a seat, Conservatives may get a small haircut. +/- 1 or 2 seats. Essentially same composition as yesterday, cabinet reshuffle and I'm sure a fair amount of internal re-orgs and politicking happening. Needle didn't move much. The issues that you mention are clearly not on the priority list for many. We will see what if any platform promises are delivered or put into cold storage for 2 years from now.

Everyone seems to be equally unhappy so there's democracy at work for you :)

Libs didn't get a majority, Conservatives didn't lose or gain much. Balance of power remains same. One lesson for the Conservatives, battling it out for the center with the Libs didn't net them any results this time.

I fear it will take something astronomically massive to see any change in the next election. Liberals may lose faith if Justin loses his hair but that's about it. Uncontrolled submarining the country into a massive debt we will never surface from, ethics violations and accepting what appeared to be bribes certainly didn't outweigh the pandering he did for the electoral part of the country that kept him in power. With 199 seats between Ontario and Quebec, the only way out from under his rule would be two fold; a catastrophic implosion of the Bloc and Quebec supporting another party besides Liberal and Jagmeet growing a set and climbing out of JT's bed.
Another day wasted, another dollar spent and the status quo remaining as it is.

I believe you missed an option....
