I agree. The majority don't want an election right now. But one is inevitably coming sooner or later. And the majority of seats will likely play out like the below...

Could be another Liberal minority government. I don't think I could take another 4 years of people whining about the Liberals! LOL

Vegas odds are not calling another minority. After the 2 bi-election losses, soft fundraising, loss of campaign resources, and red MPs saying they won't run again, there are few reasons to believe the Libs will pull a rabbit out of a hat.

Probably won't be as a bad as the loss when Iggy was around, but NDP are ALMOST within the margin of error. Factor in the momentum the Bloc has in Quebec, and the Liberal numbers continue to decline.

JT is very good at campaigning, but he is not a magician.

Biggest union farse I heard was when my EX was working in a prov outpatient clinic. They were in negotiations with the gov at the time and the subject of vacation pay came up. The union said that although they received the usual vacation pay it was insufficient as they had to have the funds not only to go on vacation but also maintain their house while they were away, Plus the added expenses of eating in restaurants and staying in hotels. Hence they should ask for more vac pay. This was met with a fair amount of disbelief that the gov would pay more than the usual 4% (which the employees had contributed to). The union guy said no it was not illogical as they, the union, had that arrangement. And who pays the union dues?

Long story short was basically the union was greasing their own wheels.
My opinion of unions was somewhat lowered by their greed.
Unions have negotiated such rich contracts with governments that they are running out of ideas on what to ask for in the next contract in order to justify the dues they collect. They have to come up with creative ideas.

I have seen unions like the CSN in Quebec celebrate after negotiations broke down, and the employer shut down operations permanently. It's tough for the pendulum to swing back the other way.

WTF is that? Means something because of AI? I quoted IPSOS polling.
Sorry, wrong link. See #77 . As for “ something because of AI “ , it’s simply a search engine, not generating an AI opinion.
$365K vs $35M. I had no idea the poverty gap was so large!
Just found the numbers.

I don’t think you have anything to worry about . I like this though. At least there is still a bit of levity in Ottawa . .

You are dead wrong. It's a deterrent to the industries that pollute. It is NOT a tax grab it's a global agreement with other countries to reduce our carbon footprint. Lead by example at worst. We get money back from the feds to compensate for our part in the accord. Yes, it will take a lot more effort from the worst countries to make a difference, but again lead by example. Hopefully it will shame those other countries into doing their part.
And once more if the provinces come up with their own plan there is NO carbon tax!! All the provincial governments, that aren't doing their own plan, is complain about the carbon tax.
Soon .61 cents a litre for the motoring and heating public . Punitive to understate it. Major Corporations simply pass on their costs to the consumer. The tax doesn’t phase them at the current levels. Forest fires last year were triple the emissions of the entire country. Tax that.

I take your point on wanting the details. There are some that want more than broad strokes, and so far all that we have got from the Conservatives is directional (kill the carbon tax, invest in technology etc). BUT, the time for a fully costed budget is when an election is called. It will cost 100's of thousands of dollars to publish a costed model today, and then do it all over again when an election is called. No party has ever published multiple budgets as the official opposition before an election.

Wait on it a few months, and the clarity you are referring to should come in due time in the form of a budget. It won't have ALL the answers, but it will indicate how much money will be allocated to each line.
Interesting perspective. The Conservatives have about , according to the current estimates about $ 20,000,000 give or take. They raised about $34,000,000 last year alone The NDP , have about $360,000 , total . As far as advertising budgets go they are in pretty good shape. Less than a GT3RS , LOL . So as far the Liberals go, probably not much flowing in that direction out of Vegas .

"lead by example..... it will shame those other countries" ? LMAO.... Those other countries don't give two $hits what Canada is doing to reduce emissions.... You think China, who continues to spit out 11.5 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide per year, and are daily ramping up coal use, would be shamed by what Canada does?.... lol.... The only interest they have in Canada is bus touring Banff and taking over Vancouver.

What part of global initiative do you not understand? It's not JUST Canada!
Keep our head buried in the sand and see where that gets us?

Global initiative...We can see how well that is working. "our head" is buried somewhere if we think all these 175 countries below that signed the Paris Agreement will meet these 17 global initiatives in the next 6 years, or more likely ever could. Have a brief read through the 17 goals in the Paris Agreement. A commendable dream but totally a dream. The clock cannot be turned back to the extent the world thinks it requires in this unrealistic time frame without total catastrophe WORLD WIDE. The vast majority of the countries on this list have massive problems of their own and could not meet these goals even if they wanted to. Put the load totally on the shoulders of the few in hopes the many will follow and see what happens to those countries. We will be driven further into poverty than JT has already taken us. A pipe dream by any other name is still a pipe dream. I would like nothing better than to wave JT's magic wand and solve all the world's problems but head in the sand or not, I am still a realist. Sheesh... I was hoping you had something to refute my point of view.... Unfortunately, great grand children weren't in the cards for us but I would be happy for yours having a world if I'm wrong.

I saw the opposite from the president of IPSOS on Global.

Yes but that was three weeks ago, lol . It will happen eventually hopefully sooner than later because it seems fairly obvious what the outcome will be barring a minor miracle. Might as well get the new clowns in place and see how much worse they could possibly be . The Liberals said today that they will vote against the Block demand for the OAS increase but it’s a moot point because of Meathead errr.. Jagmeat.

Just saw this new Nanos poll . It has the Liebrals and NDP tied . The PMO must be in a tizzy , lol .
