calculations on pushrod with Comp Cam 7702-1
12.25 turns to get zero lash on intake and exhaust rockers on cylinder 1 at TDC
6.8+(12.25x0.0500)=7.4125
7.4125+lifter preload=pushrod length

I ended up with 0.0875 preload on my lifters using my 7.5 pushrods. Its a little on the high side but there what I have kicking around and should be OK.

Lol.... Dalen. You are talking so far over my head that three step stools and an extension ladder aren't going to help me.... But that being said, I'm hoping to see you and the C4 at one of the RD show and shines, and if you get time to get it all together, at Ponoka in May as well.... Looking good....and thanks for the updates...

LOL, guys!

Interpretation:

New camshaft is sweet, but the bumpy bits might push a valve to meet up with a piston. Although these parts work well together, they should never ever meet.

I hope the Comp Cam works out for you. My luck hasn't been so good.

I am however quite looking forward to seeing this beast run!

Hmmmm.... "the bumpy bits might push a valve".... That's about as descriptive clear as I've ever heard Jordy.... You missed your calling teach!

What hasn’t been good..?

I've only had two Comp cams before, and first one was so many years ago that I didn't know anything and had to rely on a shop. I had idling issues with that car and eventually sold it because I just couldn't rely on it to start or stay running.

My TBSS has a custom-grind Comp cam, and it has always had random stalling issues. I've had the tune adjusted over and over and just can't get rid of it. Can easily tune to make it worse though!

Finally figured out what to use for my intercooler. I ordered 24”x12” Summit Racing intercooler. It’s not as big as I wanted but it fits nice!
I had the stock C4 secondary fan (A/C fan) wired up as my fan #2 from my ECM, that had to be removed. So I installed some Amazon specials to replace them that took les space. It also gave me room to move the radiator back as well for the intake off the turbo.
The stock fiberglass air intake from under the car had to be modified to accommodate the intercooler to allow as much air as I could get onto it.

Hi Dalen,

I'm thinking finding a shop with a basic tuning map should be relativity simple. Then some fine tuning based on your set up would all that's needed. If you don't already have a kit lined up and plan on building your own...below are some shots of the inter-cooler set up. I included a few pics with it installed to give you perspective on the size of it. This set up will handle the boost you are talking about easily as the H1 is running up to 15 psi with no leaks. This kit is from Predator in California designed for a 6.5TD H1. I ended up buying a Rubber Duck kit with a proper manifold as I thought this one was lame. Thats the one you see below installed. The kit in the top picture including the exchanger has never been installed. The exchanger is identical. Of course the piping will not be configured right but there should be enough connections / clamps and pipe to do the job. PM me if your interested as I'll give you a heck of a deal on it if you want it.

looks like a nice set up!
I am going to have to look more into where I can mount it yet on my C4. I will have to get back to you on it.
Thanks!

Sorry ddgermann, I looked at your set up but couldn’t get it to fit into the C4 configuration

Had some time this weekend, got the exhaust built! Just need to weld on the exhaust hangers and weld on the chrome tip.
It goes from the 3” down pipe off the turbo to 3 1/2” out the back. I wanted to run the exhaust straight out the fender, but didn’t have the room. Probably better it goes out the back so it’s not so loud in the cab.

What? You didn't want to drive around with hearing protectors all the time?...
