C4 LSX Swap

Haven’t posted in a while. Here my latest problem 🤣. Went to the season last track event, I installed a 2-step so I can leave under some boost. Well it didn’t go so well 😬. Let the clutch out to fast on a well prep track spooled up on the turbo, breaking a wheel hub, and 3 u-joints !! The stock C4 drivetrain is not holding the power, only reason it lasted as long as it did, is because I really baby it with lots of clutch slip on the launch. With end of the year trying to get into the 10’s I got a little to greedy 🤣. Time to build better, and safer with a roll bar so I can be 10.00 legal. My favourite part of winter, garage projects 😎😎

Firstly, nice car in a nice colour. Pretty rare to see really. dbm just dont see them often.

im sure you are on cf, there is a pile of guys who have thier c4’s doing wheelies so im guessing you can ask them for notes!

ive ran my 91 zr-1 a couple times on the radtorque dragstrip. Funtimes. I suck at it and was there for the road track but it was rreeaallllly fun to run the dragstrip.

thnx for the video.

Thanks for the update Dalen. Somewhat of a downer for sure but to be honest, that stock C4 driveline was never expected to withstand that many ponies. And 640 at the wheels, starts out at considerably more than than as you move forward from the wheels. We live and learn and each of your builds has gotten better, as I'm sure over the winter, the next time around will be better again.

Lots of work and modifications for the C4 in 2023 😎. New turbo, it’s going to make some power! But I need to do a bunch of work to fit on cold side and hot side 😬, 4” exhaust off this bad boy! I ordered a “8.50 cert roll cage“ that still needs to be installed, and it will need modifications. NHRA rules are not clear and trying to mount in C4 Vette is troubling. Also still need to decide on the differential and IRS to launch this hot rod 🤣. Have to get on this thing, to be ready for Miles of Mayhem 2023!

You the man Dalen. Can't wait to see this build perform.

Been busy getting NOT a lot done 🤣. Going to send the exhaust out the hood with a 4” Y-pipe on a electric cut-out and 3”-3 1/2” out the back for street driving. The new turbo needs a 4” exhaust dump, and there is NO WAY of fitting the 4” out the back, I swear it’s twice as big as 3” 😳. I have also been doing some side hustling to keep the garage funds rolling, most recent one a 2006 Yukon XL in need of a motor. This putting the C4 on the back burner, with kids activities and family time, because that is also important 😎😎. I would love to keep this Yukon, but some quick cash on a flip hopefully 👍

Looking good Dalen. FYI...I put a coffee can over the vertical exhaust on my old tractor to keep the rain out...

Well
A little bit of progress! Lots of work left to do, but I’m done with cutting and patching fiberglass! So damn itchy 🤣. Spring is here, so the yard work starts, camping, bike rides, etc. looking like the C5 for summer 😎. I still have a list to get it ready for Miles of Mayhem.
