Another Corvette from Calgary on the way to Dasilva Motorsports

Touche Colin!

Lest I forget N20Vette, not only was there a great C5 taxi service and escort from Wayne and Brian from the airport, but there was also Colin who was generous enough to get up at a crazy hour in the morning to take me back for my return flight.

How could I have forgotten you Colin????!!!!!

Maybe the -29 here right now............brain freeze, you know, sort of like with ice cream but a lot more serious and less tasty!

Cheers,

Garry

Good evening Wayne,

Are you talking about PLUS 14? Our problem is that our normal high and low for this time of year is -8/-18 so we're not even close to our norms. As well it is lasting for a while too, three days so far and not much good news in the future either. Maybe two to three days more.

Nice new picture as well Wayne.

So at this temperature are you still out driving your car or are you just going through a warm snap? I thought you guys just had a major winter storm go through??

Time to throw another log on the fire!

Cheers,

Garry

Whoa, 2 am and -34 here at Aidan's acreage!! But no wind so I can't wait to go outside in 4 hours!!

Cheers,

Garry

Hi Garry,
We are at 0c right now, by the time Mud Street happens we will have highs of -6. Yesterday was a one shot deal, winter, or what passes for it here is back to normal. No snow on the ground either.
The car has been to sleep for the last couple of weeks, as soon as they started throwing salt down. Did I want to take the car out yesterday? yES, hoping for an early spring.

To make you feel even better I have all my Christmas shopping done :D
The only downside is the millions of raccoons that have just "discovered" my attic. I'm hoping the last of them left at about 2:30 this morning.

Hats off to you and anyone dealing with -34.

Good morning Wayne,

It reached a low of -35, some reported in more "remote" areas it hit -40 though I actually doubt that.

I went outside for 38 minutes this morning. I put my reuseable heat packs inside my MEC oversized mitts and my hards were toasty warm the whole time. No wind though so as long as you dress properly it is not too bad. Wore my winter boots instead of my running shoes as a concession but still took off my fleece pants and went in my undies with windproof outside fleece lined pants. I hate to be dressed so heavily that it makes movement difficult.

There was a broken down Mustang on the side of the road for two days that just got picked up yesterday.

It got me to thinking, why do Mustang and Challenger drivers still use their cars in the winter but I NEVER see a Corvette out. Lack of ground clearnace? No block heater? We simply like our cars more??

No snow you lucky fellow (read SOB)?? Want some? Actually we're not too bad yet for snow. I haven't gotten stuck in my driveway yet! But I have my two 4x4 farm trucks adjacent, I just like it if I don't have to drive them outside of farming season. 40 mpg vs. 12 mpg ya know!

As for wildlife, the dirty buggers! No racoons here thankfully but annoying squirrels. But thanks to "Iceage" they are all Scratts in the eyes on my son and so can't be disposed of. Of course then I'd have to buy a gun of some kind and I enjoy the notoriety of being the only person in Alberta without a greater arsenal than our Armed Forces!!!!

Christmas shopping, well I'm pretty well done here too but only because I buy and store things throughout the year so I don't get caught out of position.

Cheers,

Garry

Well, my neighbour was just out cutting his lawn. I should do mine also while it is still above freezing.

Cutting grass???? Are you sure if you're seeing that, that you're not smoking it instead of watching someone cutting it???!!! What a crazy, diversified country we live in - we are VERY lucky indeed.

Cheers,

Garry

I guess I could have taken a picture. I opted to vacuum leaves instead of cut our grass. Light dusting of snow yesterday and hovering around freezing mark, but getting colder. It is getting doubtful that I'll get the vette out again this year. :(

Look what went in today :D

OOOH YA can you say HORSE POWER :canada:

You bet , but it won't roar till 2014 :D

Dewitts Rad and ECS intercooler :

Nice! Another happy vette owner in the new year from the boys at Dasilva!

I'm thinking I like this look

Look at this engine bay , now thats what I'm talking about

Just waiting on the Pfadt Racing JOC Stage 1 and then its on to the rollers ,

Hey N20! Please give us a before/after on your impression of the JOC kit. I have my eye on this for a future mod.

Manny, those wheels with the white walls on the vette are hilarious! It actually looks quite neat!
