Allocation

Amen...I'd hate to be a US buyer for Corvettes as it seems MSRP dealers are far and few between.
Cam, I agree with all your comments in this thread. Z51 with mag ride is the way to go, it's how I'm going with my next one (if it shows up before my Z06). There is zero availability for mag ride FE2 with no Z51 in both Canada and the US.

"Z51 with mag ride is the way to go" is a very subjective comment. I am not sure in what context you are making it. Every buyer has their own reason for getting Z51 or not getting Z51. Some buyers may order it for resale value, some because they plan to track the car, some just because they want one (or all) of the features it brings. I did not want it on my first C8 because my tracking days are over, and I would not get any use out of the features it brings. However, front lift is a must for me and when my 2023 allocation is submitted (very soon I hope) I will order Z51 if that is the only way I can get front lift when my allocation comes up. The wait for my allocation has been long enough, and I am not getting any younger. Yes, that is a fair chunk of $ just to get a quicker build, but that is where my priorities lie.

Would that not be the dealer that sucks? GM has no say in what the dealer is going ultimately sell for. As far as I've determined, GM prefers MSRP but a lot of dealers will charge what they will.
At least your next on the list, the light at the end of the tunnel is visible

GM obviously thinks they have a say.... or maybe this was just a BS statement to appease buyers and make them think GM actually GAF... This released back in January...

As reported by Corvette Action Center, “it has come to our attention that (…) a small number of dealers have engaged in practices that do not support a positive sales experience for our customers.” Don’t know about you, but if I were Steve Carlisle right now, I would be repentant to announce a markup crackdown after so many woeful accounts from would-be owners.

The statement further reads that “dealers agree to effectively, ethically, and lawfully sell and promote the purchase, lease, and use of products by consumers.” In other words, GM is putting a collar on price gouging. There were one too many instances of customers getting surprise ADMs upon delivery, markups that were not previously communicated by the dealers.

What’s going to happen to dealers who aren’t playing nice? According to Steve Carlisle, the biggest of the Big Three in Detroit will redirect vehicle allocations to honest dealers.....

Were you able to place an order this month?
No, unfortunately not. I'm #8 moving forward so hopefully GM sends more dealers way. I shouldn't have sold my 21 as early as I did however had my NSX to pay for.

Looking forward to having another C8.

Your NSX needs some love too ;) Curious to hear how you compare that with the C8?
NSX was my dream car since I was i was 14 years old. Manual transmission and precise steering/feel feedback. It's fast but not C8 fast.

C8 I just love as a daily driver. I put 15,500 kms on my 21 C8 and looking forward to driving another daily. The C8 is what the current outgoing Acura NSX NC1 should have been...

You are just missing a 2 in the year of your NSX lol

Here's a Canadian allocation update for July. For all of the entire country this month:
162 Allocations
130 with Z51 (80.25%)
32 without Z51 (19.75%)
FE2 & FE4 seem to be fully available this month.
Let's hope these allocation numbers continue.

Whooowho I was fortunate enough to get a call that I was able to order today!

Two guys ahead of me were not able to do so.
Congrats man !!! So LB on tan right ? You also got me happy with the statement that 2 guys ahead of you were not able to order, the question is whether they are stepping aside because they want options on constraint, or are just not ready to lay down the coin and are opting off the list completely. Reason I am curious is because if there are 1-2 guys like that for every 10 allocations, then those of us in the #40-60 range will bump up quicker too. So if you order now, when do you figure to have the car by, Sept ?
