I painted the hood today!! Unfortunately some rain came in between the second and third coat 😢. Still looks good for a under hood paint job 👍. I don’t like painting in the garage, so I decided to do it out doors... I guess that’s what I get 😜

I found the spring mount plates on the frame where rusted out! 😬 They where Riveted on to the frame from factory, letting moisture and dirt get between it in the frame causing rust! So I cut out them out and welded a plate to the frame for the new support. Still waiting on parts stuck at the border, at least it gives me time to fix things I didn’t know I needed to fix 👍

I sanded down and painted the frame with some frame paint, it’s definitely different than any other paint I ever used.... It hardens up and you can’t seem to scratch or chip it, and it looks like it almost kinda soaks into the metal !! Looking good and durable 😎.
The parts finally showed up 😁! Power brakes, front disk brakes with 2 1/2” drop spindles, 3” lowering springs for the rear, front and rear shocks, trailering arm bushings, and panhard bar bushings. The old truck should handle and stop a little better 👍.
I wasn’t going to lower it... but I been hanging around some bad influence lately 🤣. just dropped a little to give it that nice stance 👍👍

Looking pretty sweet Dalen. I'm just waiting for you announce that the patina is going by the wayside for a paint job as well...lol....
I wouldn’t be surprised either 🤣. I want to build a paint booth onto the garage already......lol. Patina for a couple of years anyway, need to get it back running and driving to enjoy it for a bit first

Finally getting around to the front end of this truck!! Front disk brakes installed, and suspension rebuilt. The factory wheels don’t fit anymore, because they hit the brake calipers, and the original only fit with drums. Guess I need to find some aftermarket wheels that fit, shouldn’t be hard. They are the same wheel pattern as my 2019 Silverado 6x5.5” or 6x139.7mm. Just the offset might not look good with factor take-offs. Looking for something not to flashy that suits the truck. Kijiji, and fb marketplace searches haven’t pulled through yet.

Pontiac Fiero, I’m painting it Voodoo Blue 😍.
Taking a break on this project, until the Covid restrictions lift. Should keep me close to my garage working on my projects now 👍👍

Gauges installed ✅. I like the retro look of the white faced gauges mounted under the dash. Needed a adapter to mount the sensor for temperature.

Driveshaft cut to length with new u-joints and carrier bearing. Getting really close on this project!! Just need to finish up a few loose ends, then start on building the base tune!

We are patiently waiting Dalen. Can't wait to see the finished here AND out on the street. Talk of the town is gonna be seeing the C10 pulling the trailer with the turbo monster C4. Hoorah buddy.

Managed to get everything temporary hooked up to run power to the ECM. Downloaded the tune to delete VATS, and get started on the base tune to get this thing running!! Going to have to go with a closed loop speed density tune, being that I have no MAF, and only going to run my table calculations off MAP sensor and 02 sensors👍. Every time I fire up the HP Tuners, I have to relearn how to navigate/use the HP Tuners program 🤣, but think I will get it!! Turned on the ignition to test everything, fuel pump relay is hooked up to my dash lights to test operation, think I’m going to have a runner soon 🤞

It’s alive 👍. First start up!! It gave me a little trouble, because I had the cam position and crank position wires crossed, who knew they are exactly the same connectors 🤣. But other than a little troubleshooting, realizing my mistake because I had no spark, it was a quick fix👍. Everything seems to be working good, I even have full oil pressure.... was a little worried, because this is the first engine I completely rebuilt. Time to clean up the wiring and get this sweet C10 ready for spring 😃
