1 bucket list item you want to do with your car

I fulfilled 1 bucket list item that I did with a former car I owned. In Dec. of 2015 I trailered my 2013 GT500 down to Daytona beach to run the Rolex course at Daytona International Speedway. The Audi club of America every year in December rents the track for a weekend of doing that course so it was something that I wanted to do and was able to plan it out without much drama.

Had to rent a truck and trailer from Bristol and keeping an eye on weather and all that but Dec. of that year luckily was actually quite mild even during the drive there and back so really lucked out. That winter I was also in the middle of doing HCI on my 09 Z06 so that car was partially apart in my garage while the heads were sent out months before to AHP and they were to do their package 4 head setup and then ship them to the hotel I was staying in Florida while doing the weekend with the Shelby. Also picked up supporting parts for the Z again shipped to the hotel and was coming back with my Shelby intact + Corvette parts galore.

To support the track event I also had to bring all my supporting stuff for the Mustang, extra set of wheels/tires, jack/jackstands, fluids, brake parts, tools etc etc. It was quite an undertaking but cool to fulfill it and the money spent to do it was $$$$$$$$$$.

So what is your bucket list item you want to do with your car? I have another one now with the ZR1 but I'll put it on here in a little while.

I would like to take the drive to Bowliing Green, KY during the Anniversary weekend at some point, however, that's probably not in the cards anytime soon. It would also be nice to road trip across the country in the Corvette to visit some CCF members in different provinces that have become friends during my time on this forum.

Similar to OL Yeller, I'd like to join a caravan and drive to Bowling Green for one of the special anniversary celebrations. My neighbour did the 25th and had a hoot, with a fair number of Albertans driving all that way (600 to 800). With Bowling Green helping the State economy so much, when his group got to the Kentucky border, they had a police escort and the lead police car was going 100 mph (not km/hr) with all the Corvettes keeping up. He wasn't expecting that and it made it all the more memorable. Unfortunately my spouse isn't keen on any such trip, which is disappointing after she helped me achieve my motorcycle "bucket list item" of driving across Canada as my passenger navigator for a month, even though she'd not been on a long motorcycle trip before. But that was in our first year of marriage 35 years ago...so a different era (lol).

With my car, two long road trips are on bucket list.

Drive 66 the whole way from IL to the ocean.

Other one is doing pacific coast highway from WA to Cali.

Prob won’t be in this car as those would need retirement timelines which is not anytime soon for me.

I've done some of the former and most of the latter over a decade ago in a camper van. I could easily be convinced to do them again when my new ride gets here. I'll have to do it in the new C8, as the next time its sold, it will be part of an estate sale.

If i could find an enclosed trailer weighing less than 1500lbs, I could trailer ours. If it fit in safely. Chances are slim to none.

Covid travel closures cancelled my Yukon/NWT tour in 2020 with 2 AB comrades.

Afterwhich … then Bowling Green but likely when without the caravan congestion. Maybe with a small group from either AB or from the Maritimes.

Rain or Shine, I will drive to meet/cruise with you on your route if/when in AB. It might be hard to zig and zag off the path to meet everyone … it was a challenge that I had this year.

We just did Ont to Nashville with a stop in BG. It’s nice roadtrip. I recommend it.

Corvettes won't get squished on the ferry from NS to NL. If they think it's going to be that rough, they will just chain them down to the deck.
They don't do that much anymore, they usually just cancel the crossings till the weather improves. Don't worry, be appy

My bucket list is pretty much complete:

• 2000 trip to Bowling Green with my son in our 2000 Corvette "BMBLBEE" for the Birthday Bash.
• Did it again with him in 2002 again for the Birthday bash
• Flew to Indianapolis in 2006 to pick up a Chevy SSR Final Production Run and drove it home with my son
• Several trips to Arizona and back with Wife in Corvettes
• Trip to Ron Fellows driving school with Wife in our 2017 Grand Sport (only one other person had their car there)
• no sure there's much left.........................

“Squished” in a ferry like parking in shopping center parking lot with people/kids brushing by it… Is what raises anxiety. Might try it with a daily runner first … just to get over this initial thought … then might be able to check NL from the corvette bucket list

… but yyssw … it is only be my concern as I know that nobody gives a crap about my property …

Ok here it is, what I would like to do with my ZR1. It involves overseas travel so basically I would love to ship the car over to my place of birth Hong Kong and drive it around there and also of course show it off.

I have linked a few videos from a Youtube channel called "Instacarhk" the person for that channel (Justin) does pretty decent reviews on various cars that make HK home. A big car show they have over there happens every year the Chater road car show. Imagine people there seeing a C7 ZR1, hearing it..........................it would make quite the presence over there. Of course I would let Justin do a review of it there how cool it would be to drive a 755hp sports car around the tight mountain roads there.

Logistically, I have no clue yet how to go about it. For fun I have checked into shipping a car over there from Vancouver and generally if you have the car outside during the voyage on the boat it's around $9xx.xx and change, inside storage is more like $13-15xx.xx. There's insurance to figure out and of course need to know the laws and rules over there AFA driving a car shipped over for a period of time then getting the car back home.

Yes sounds nuts.....................but that's why it's a bucket list item.

But ya … got an H1 that I might be shipping one day too … it might make for a great general discussion thread if ever happening
