Why the high price increase? Lets look at the numbers...

I would get a 2024 mustang GT convertible
In my opinion that's going backwards. We had and loved our Camaro SS's but when the C8 came out we never looked back. Though perhaps I'd buy a Mustang as a winter beater.

I mean if I didn't or couldn't have a C8, I would get a 2024 mustang
Gotcha. I began to worry about my 2K Camaro and was beginning to give serious thought to a Camaro Restomod. THank goodness for the C8! LOL

You could always buy a 12 year old Porsche 911 4S or just S for the same $ as a used C8 which likely would have warranty still? Looks like if you want under $100k your into a 15 year old 911. That makes no sense to go that old in technology... 2023 mustang 5.0 is $85k ....

In case you missed it, I bought new yesterday.
I like the "insignificant changes" between 2024 and prior years, but that's not why I bought new.
I did it just to negate this somewhat condescending response to my prior post, as quoted, but that's just my opinion.
And we all know opinions are like, well, you know. Everyone's got one?
Have a nice day.

people are complaining about the price going up 12k in Canadian market for c8
No, s**t! For the ‘24 MY? My car is going into production on the 28th and will be a ‘23. I was hoping for a ‘24 but I am glad it’s not, now. That’s close to $14,000 with all taxes in. Unreal.

Our Escalade V was close to $270,000 taxes in. Not too long ago, you could have purchased a freakin’ V12 Lamborghini or Ferrari for less than that. What a joke this country has become.

Um….No fan of what this country has become but GM made the decision to increase 2024 prices. The “country”had nothing to do with it.

With the amount of increased allocations given to dealers this past month I assume 18month waits are in the past. With the 12K increase GM will most likely give more allocations now to Canada. Also I bet more people on the list will back out and there will be a reduction in new orders. In Alberta most dealers now are quoting 8 months/spring and that is mainly due to reduced deliveries during winter for Canada.

No there was no increase in allocations both July and Aug are just “normal”

No GM will not increase Canadian allocations and canada will continue to get less and less.

Yes the average 18 months wait from list to delivery will decrease down to 12 months once the dust settles

No beating around the bush, never been a fan of the C8 (nor most "supercars" to be fair). I was in Haliburton last weekend and there was the car of my dreams a 1974 911 Porsche, a car with its engine back even further than the C8. This car had obviously had some competition history. Full roll cage, race wheels, and enough window stickers to know she had been around. Rather than giving GM a pot full of money I would take the Porsche and not give a crap if anyone waved to me or not. By the way, passed three C8's yesterday and despite me doing so not one wave, done with that crap!

Have you tried driving a C8? It really is nice! I personally didn’t buy it for the “supercar” look- I am actually ambivalent about that since I feel like a bit of an imposter when around Ferrari’s etc, but that’s just me. I have always wanted a midengined car but one that I could service and get warranty work done locally. Very very limited on that front- no Porsche, Ferrari, Lambo etc dealer within 800kms. And did I mention how nice it is to drive?

I wave to all Vettes.

I wave at all corvettes, but the older the model the less chances that they will wave back. Funny thing is almost every Lambo and Ferrari driver waves at me causing me to wave back.
I think a wave is just a car guy acknowledgment of another sports/exotic car regardless make and model. Now that I think of it I have never got a wave from a Porsche driver, but if I did I would wave back.

I have had C6, C7, and now the C8. My C8 is a wonderful driver. But I would go back to a C7, specifically a Z06, if the right one came along.

X 100% on the "wave" thing.
(OK, I'll wave to Denis and wlgj )

I wave at Lambos' and Ferraris' as well with a thumbs up and none ever wave back. I'm sure there's lots of "older the model" Corvettes that have experienced this as well and likely quit waving at the other exotics. Since the C8 looks more just like another snob exotic, older Corvette drivers likely don't even realize it's a Corvette until it's gone past them, if at all. I do recognize the C8, and wave to them, (mostly because I've seen 6,226 pictures of it here on the forum), but there are a lot of Corvette drivers out there that aren't exposed to a C8 picture every day. If I meet you on the road in my older model Corvette Denis, watch for my wave..
