When Do You Think You Will Take Your Toy Out For It's First Ride ????

Out of Hibernation...FINALLY!!!...started right up...purrs like a kitten :Woohoo:
I tried to post video but couldn't...invalid file extension :Banghead:

I picked up this DRI AIR at WalMart last fall for $8.99 before I put the car away in October ... its for moisture.
When I took it out of the car today, the tub was FULL of water. It worked amazing. By the way...just picked up 3 more tonight for $4.49. All ready for next time.

I parked it on SM Insulation and the weight of the car made its own indentations about 1/4" deep ... instant flat stoppers for cheap.

400 more klms today. Ended up at Shaganappi (thanks to everyone for the oil change advice) for a quick oil change. Young fella’s first day on the job. Lol. His father (long time Shaganappi techician) oversaw the whole process. Did good. Nice people.

Easiest way to post a vid is to upload it to YouTube or one of the others, then copy and share the link in a post.

Those Dri-Z-Air work very well. Sadly I currently have to store my Corvette in sheltered but outdoor parking in a high humidity climate so they are essential to prevent that mildew smell and damage. I use 3 during storage one in the trunk and 2 in the cab of the convertible. I also put one of those Baking Soda fridge deodorizer boxes in the trunk and cabin during storage. I've emptied the water and replenished the pellets twice during storage. I found the drying pellets bulk in a 4L sized container at an RV store and that contains enough product to last a couple of years and is much cheaper $ per quantity than those 1 charge bags.

The City of Calgary actually has a Website Street Sweep Schedule
They are teasing me with April 11th - Wow that's next week :Woohoo:

With a buffer in the equation, I just moved my Insurance Date up to April 18th.
If the City is on schedule ... it's gonna be a long week of waiting. :WillyNilly:

What's the bet they are gonna give me a $500 property tax hike notice on the same day :Rage:

Hope the sweepers come your way sooner SN-III

I just went for a little run, only about 50km, the highway and main roads are not too bad but the local streets still have lots of sand. With small amounts of snow in the forecast for the next 2 weeks, I guess it will be maintenance time out in the garage.

I'm glad that I made the best of the sunny days that we had since I insured it on March 28th. I've had the Vette out 3 times since then but the torrential rains started today on the Wet Coast and doesn't look promising for another week or so. The roads took quite a beating this winter too so lots of pot holes to watch out for.

Thats for sure..its a slalom course around here too.. they are, however, starting to patch.

Was at Costco today and parked beside a 2019 Admiral Blue GS. Met the guy when we both came out. Had a long chat and gave him my last CCF business card. Hopefully we see him on the New User soon. Nice guy. Dale was his name and hopes to make the RMC. He just took his GS out of the garage today.

Even though there have been no notices or signs yet, I can clearly see the evidence that the sweepers have been out around here already. Mostly because of the funny paths they leave around the parked cars, but it is indeed an indication that spring is coming.

Don't talk to us about potholes! LOL! Our roads look like a teenager's face!

Surprisingly, yes! I am amazed to see patching has started already! Usually it is at least May before they even attempt to start patching. It usually looks like this until the end of May:

Here north-east of Toronto, things were drying up nicely. Then, Saturday we got 6-7 inches of the white stuff along with the salt and brine. I never take the car out in the spring until we have had two or three good rains to wash all the salt off the roads. The brine is nasty stuff and has been found to even get past the GM weatherpac electrical connectors. With all the electronics in these cars, I don't need that kind of trouble.

I couldn't wait any longer being a nice day today with temperatures touching 18 degrees in the Fraser Valley and sunny. I decided to insure it for the road and put the plates back on it today rather than wait the 3 more days that my storage insurance policy still had left on it. I was shocked that even though it hadn't run since November it started right up as if it had just run recently. I checked my tire pressures did a bit of dusting, detailing, put the top down and took it for a run from Chilliwack to Rosedale over the bridge to Agassiz then the Lougheed Highway to Hope and Highway 1 back home. Before putting it away for today I stopped and topped off the tank with some 94 Octane Chevron for only $1.69.9 per liter . Fortunately I only used 9 liters for the run. Looking foreword to many hours behind the wheel with a big grin on my face since 2018's Corvette season was abbreviated by a couple of months due to my wife having hip replacement surgery last August.
Lucky bugger. They are announcing freezing rain here tonight and a cool week
