Stingray OFFICIAL LIST of who is on the list?

Not open for further replies.
This is a very good thread here. Question I have for the forum. I have been following a Corvette forum in the US. As I think most others are too. They post first 4 digits of their 6 digit Order Numbers and follow status of their builds. Potential owners post their order number. One of the administrators replies with status code, TPW, and VIN#. It’s been pretty spot on from what I can see. Is there a reason we don’t do the same?
Maybe a forum policy that why I ask.

We don’t have anyone who is willing to share that info

Neils, not sure if you plan on installing a full strobe light package to your car which I actually did on a Z06 in the past, but unfortunately the Aston Martin Vantage is the F1 pace and safety car under contract this year.
When I was speed reading this message at work and saw the words strobe lights, I was sure the rest of it would be poking fun at me. Back in the days, I was front and centre at all the major car shows in Montreal and surroundings, had a Nissan 300zx, and I waited for the copyright to end that Nissan had on the Steve Millen 25th anniversary body kit and rims. As soon as they sold the last one off the line (300 vehicles of course), I paid the big bucks to be one of the first in the province (likely country) to have the kit and rims shipped in, get it all mounted and painted at the body shop, and have the customized car flat bed to one of the largest indoor car shows over here. It was also parked as part of the GP displays downtown before it got very commercial and beer companies and big buck car companies taking over the booths and streets.

I tell you all that because that car had a massive strobe kit on it, embedded into each of the front and rear lenses. Looked awesome driving around with the strobes on at night. I think today would look a bit tacky.

As for Grand Prix, would be a dream to have my customized C8 as a pace car, but if GM was do to something, they would for sure use a stock C8 Z06 no doubt. Just for kicks, I am going to write to GM Canada, as well as go thru Morgan at the dealer to see if they are interested in using the car in a booth setup, as most of the big players setup booths downtown in closed off streets (Porsche always there).

Would be cool to have the car on display somewhere in there, else will do some photo shoots and drone video footage around the event madness (if I can pull it off, cops are not fond of flying drones downtown, so will likely use a 360 camera.

Build should be ready (shipped to dealer) by week 3 or 4 of May, driving down my CF aero and many custom accessories to meet my dealer guy Morgan half way between Mtl and ON next week.

I hate to tell anyone this but on list 04/04/2023 received allocation 04/13/2023 order accepted 04/18//2023 but was on 2 other lists prior for months
Same thing happened to me. But not that quick lol. Went on list at a dealership April 2022. Was told by their allocation number and where I was on the list, it would be 2 years. Which was no problem. Wanted it for my 60th. A gift to myself.
Went in on Dec. 2022 for an update. They told me it doesn’t look good. Looks like another 2 1/2 to 3 years based on their allocation numbers at that point. And this is not a small town dealership either.
I left there and went straight to the competition 5KM away. Was put on their list Dec. 20th. March 17th 2023 they asked if I was ready. 😁 That morning I was 1100 status. By that evening I was 2000 status. March 20th I was 3000 status. Less then 5 weeks later, April 24th I’m at 3300 status.
Crossing my fingers it continues to move along this quickly. We all hear about the sitting at 3400 to 3800. Hope with any luck I’ll have it mid to end of June.
You have to call around. My mistake was not knowing the exact allocation numbers they get and what number on the list I was. Ask to see the lists.

It's nice to hear good stories form others instead of the horror stories of 2 year wait times Congrats @opmope! I have been on 2 other lists for a while, one for about 7 months and still about 6 or 7 months out by my number on that one but they do communicate very well and only took a $2500 deposit and they are a big Alberta dealership but selling at MSRP. And the other I have been on for about 6 months $5000 deposit and they won't take a call or reply to an email so I contacted the finance manager and asked for my deposit back after 6 months. The smaller dealership I got the allocation through in a few weeks asked for no deposit (which was a shock) until my order was accepted by GM. Now I guess the next wait for the build and shipping of the car begins. Hopefully it's not weeks and weeks to ship out west once it is built so I can at least get some driving in this summer before the snow flies again

Maybe it is just my gut feeling, but based on what I am reading on here as of maybe March this year, the tides are changing for a few reasons.

Yes people are falling off of lists due to multiple deposits everywhere, or passing on allocations due to constraints. I also believe some are backing out due to the price of the car having climbed over 2 years since some have dropped deposits, bringing the monthly payment much higher. And my other gut feeling is telling me the smaller dealers are finally getting their share, perhaps due to their excellent turnaround times to get the allocations delivered and off their lot.

In my case my allocation came from a smaller dealer (still 2 years later to the month) and I am still waiting for a call from a top 3 dealer who were supposed to get 10 allocations a month and have barely got half of that.

Combine that with what seems to be a decent production run at the plant, and I feel that GM is finally catching up with the SR backlog. Z06 is a whole different story, as will be the E-Ray.

I agree with most of that for sure Neils. I know the owners and managing partner of the big dealership I first went on teh wait list with and they have not got the number of allocations they were expecting at all. Some months less than half, and also the constraints like Z51 also kills them as they told me 85% of their customers will not order a car without it so it back logs the wait list ( I am one of them) Thank fully my order got picked up asking for the Z51 package as there was 120 this order cycle for Canada so i got one of them but i know some months there has only been 30 or 40 for all of the Canadian orders so that is a why you see so many dealer orders at sitting around and virtually none of them have certain options like Z51 or mag ride etc.. Lots of dealer orders go through but not customer build orders due to the constraints. I had to opt for garbage stock 5 spoke silver wheels as there were no wheels available a few weeks ago, no high wing still and limited Z51, and no carbon fiber ground effects which I think was minor. but it all adds up to even fewer customer cars for Canada.

I can certainly understand how multiple deposits change things, but I am not real sure on the cost factor.
If someone is in a position in life to be seriously considering a Corvette, has the increase been that much to change their minds?
Nobody wants to spend the extra, and they may be upset about it, but to cancel altogether, I just can't see it.
On the entire issue of lists and allocations, I've all but given up trying to understand it.

DW I get the frustration, I for sure got lucky where I was not lucky at all with the other 2 lists I was on. I do agree with you though. If my build went from $120,000 to $125,000 I wouldn't have walked away after waiting for even 6 months. I don't think a lot of people are financing the majority of their car purchase so can't see a 2%-4% increase being much of a game changer. I have to find wheels for my car now so that's a $4000+ cost i didn't expect as I was going to go with stock wheels which all all constrained but I didn't not take the allocation as a result for sure. Although my wife might be shaking her head at me a bit more hahaha

I've been waiting for 14 months and have my deposit down with one of the top three in Canada. My order was originally a non Z51 but I was told a couple weeks ago if I added Z51 I would jump up the line. I added it and still didn't get an allocation. I'm not sure what's going on with GM right now but it doesn't seem any better to me than the my first go around when I ordered my 2020 back when the plant went on strike and Covid hit. It actually is worse!

Well clearly you are not getting the straight goods. I will show you the constraint list for Canada that was sent to me on the 14th for my order. it clearly shows Z51 is a constraint right now and it has been on and off for months as well as mag ride. This was emailed to me right after I was told I got an allocation.

I was in the exact same situation for both examples given above.

First, I did not want Z51 (not tracking the car) but was told if you take it you jump the list (and by a mile). So some before me wanted non-z51 for the same reasons.

Second, no forged wheels. I did not care as I am going Vossen, so base wheels were fine for me, not for others before me.

And there was at least one case where a guy was upset being called with an allocation because “he was not ready yet” financially, so there are some trying to save monthly to have a decent deposit to bring the monthly payments down (a decently equipped 3LT Z51 vert at $120k is $2500 a month with zero down (not everyone has a trade-in or $50k to drop as a deposit).

But one of my observations from above was that I am noticing more and more people landing allocations with smaller dealers and the big 3 getting less than usual.

Curious to know, for those with multiple deposits, do you simply take back your deposit (to fund some additional accessory purchases or pay down the car), or do you play poker at the other dealer and move the deposit to another list (Z06, ERay), and let it ride out for a few years. I ask because I have that very decision to make. $2500 would certainly help pay for a few C8 items or labor to install the aero. Trying to convince myself (and my budget and wife), if I really need that ERay or Z06 that costs so much more.

Well i am going to be honest with you, I am being a selfish jerk i know but I kept my other deposits where they are as they only total $7500 for the 2 i have left so not a big deal and it keeps me on 2 lists in the event that the 2024 comes out with significant changes that I like and may want to purchase and sell my 2023. As we all know I am not going to lose money on the sale of the 2023 so i am hedging my bet that I might want the 2024 if they for instance increase the Hp on the 24 like is rumored, or if the interior changes are significant and I like them. That is my reasoning and who knows if the crazy demand keeps up i might even just flip one out and make a few bucks and then ideally take possession of a 2024 in spring if timing works out. Sorry I know as I said I'm being a selfish jerk

It's not how many necessarily, but how many GM decides to give a particular dealer. Though it does surprise me that he didn't get an allocation.

I think unlike you 2, my allocation is coming up at the other (bigger) dealer, I was expecting the call to come in from them first. So I cannot afford to get a call and just keep passing my turn until Sept just in case the ‘24 model has better options or performance. And since I have a lot of aftermarket work being done on my C8 (arriving in a few weeks), I am expecting a hefty bill for the install, so that deposit will help fund that work. Can’t have it all like the saying goes and with a 2.9 sec car I won’t use half of that on the road, and doing the new options will be huge items. Moving the deposit to a corvette SUV waitlist, that is a whole other story :)

Not sure if I am reading the chart right, but what I can confirm for sure, based on the previous allocations for the month of April (week 1 I think), is that the 2 items on constraint was Non-Z51 (you had to take Z51) and black forged wheels (not sure which specific design). I had to spend the extra $7500 to get the Z51 even though I did not plan on getting it initially, to save some coin, since I would not be tracking the car.

So not sure if that is what the chart shows, but if it says otherwise, then it does not line up with what some of the dealers got, if it does then great cause those were the constraints that were told to me, and I put the bucks on the table for something I did not initially want to get on the car. In the end glad it will be there. As someone once said, easier to order stuff like that up front that you might not need, than regretting it is not there and trying to add it later which would be pricey and a lot of work to install.

BTW, can remove me from the BS list, tomorrow I will be taking back my deposit. I was told I was next up for the May allocations, so just missed it by a month. However I really wanted the car for Grand Prix weekend, so would not have arrived in time with them, plus I know they would not help me customize the car with all the added aero and accessories and rims I am planning.

If BS had a wait list for the upcoming SUV, would have left my deposit with them. And I don't think I am ready to spend crazy money on a Z06 or ERAY I will never track, so no need to pay for all that extra power (I do prefer the wider body look).

So whomever is on the BS list, you will move up by 1 as of tomorrow. Crazy thought, but anyone ever hear of someone going thru with an order, for the benefit of the dealer, where the dealer ends up keeping the car, saying the buyer dropped out, giving them the opportunity to sell it for a markup (you know where I am going with this). Just curious that's all.

I must be a simpleton. Can someone please explain this chart? I understand the left column. I understand the description column. But the whole upper Qty. makes no sense. It says 0 constraints? That means to me 0 issues, move forward. If some can explain each column, that would be awesome. And what’s Test Place BTG?
