Given the proper setting, such as looking over the side of a boat, or visiting Marineland, perhaps.I think your Trifocals need an adjustment...
Likewise.I got a letter from GM Canada to bring my 2024 to the dealer for correction of the light issue.
Yes, I heard about it today and select car owners will be notified that due to over torquing of transmission fasteners, a new transmission will need to be installed. Rick sounds like he’s creating a panic, because I read the repair needs to be done before May 31, 2026 not 2024! The Customer Satisfaction Program letter number N232427051 will be mailed to those vehicle owners who need to contact their dealers to confirm this repair. Perhaps your dealer can check your VIN to confirm your car is not affected by this or the car must be held until the repair is done. I just checked my Vin, which is a late 2023 with the 2024 transmission and my Vin is not showing up for this problem. You can check experience.gm.ca enter your Vin number and see if anything else is coming up on your car. Don’t panic Graham and I hope you VIN isn’t included in this recall!Scott,
My car has been sitting in Vancouver for over a week now. My dealer is hoping to accept delivery some time later this week and needs at least 2 days to ready the car for delivery.
I just watched Rick (Corvette) Conti’s YouTube “Tech Tuesday. And he mentioned a transmission recall for some ‘23’s and some 24’s. This is an urgent recall and requires affected vehicles to report in by May 31st. As parts replacements and supply issues could and likely will come into play.
I’m not sure what cars are or will be affected but it would be a sad situation for our Canadian owners who have already been waiting patiently for an already delayed delivery due to the DRL issue to be impacted yet again on this potential transmission recall.
Do you have any further info on this transmission recall and what Corvettes are affected.
Always appreciate the information you and your contacts are able to dig up.
Cheers, Graham
Graham, good news then as it sounds like your transmission is fine and the DRL issue will be updated during your PDI next week! Thanks again Scott, Rick may have mentioned 2026 but all I heard was May 31st. And I had visions of already having to give up a car I have not yet recieved.
I did go and check on recalls on the 24, and the only issue showing is the DRL issue, which will be remedied as my dealer receives the car.
We are all hoping for delivery next week. cheers, Graham
Hi Mr Corvette!GM is well on there way to finding a solution for all of the vehicles named in the recall. So far a solution has been found for Traverse, the GMC Yukon XL, Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, GMC Sierra HD, Silverado HD, GMC Sierra, Chevrolet Silverado, Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe and GMC Yukon. Priority has been given to the higher volume vehicles. Up next will be the Cadillac CT4 and CT5, Buick Envision and Corvette. GMC Hummer and the Cadillac Lyriq will be last as there's only a few of them compared to Corvettes.
Later this week and next the dealers will be hearing about these updates through the Global Connect system. Since a solution has been found to over 50% of the product line already, I expect the software solution for the Corvette to be completed by the end of this month as I mentioned to those that have contacted me already about this. Do not call your dealer at this point. They are being updated on a daily basis and will let you know when things start moving again. The more vehicles that are backing up waiting to cross the border the more pressure that GM will be putting on the Gov't to lift the blockage and allow the vehicles to enter the country. This information is for those that are waiting for your cars as I've read how frustrated you are. You will not find any information like this on Corvette Blogger, the Mid Engine Corvette Forum, Corvette Forum or anywhere else. This is only of importance to us here in Canada not to other markets.
There was an update on Global Connect on May 4th but it did not contain any update for a solution on the 2020 - 2023 Corvettes.Hi Mr Corvette!
I am waiting on delivery of a 2021 C8 from Barry Cullen. Purchased Feb 7th and no delivery until recall completed. Do you have any updates you could share? Third Corvette and I’m a little anxious!!! Thanks in advance.
Sorry I don't have better news for you Stu, but I am checking for updates with my contacts at GM every day looking for any updates.Thank you so much for the quick and accurate response. The dealer could not provide the info you just did! Grateful! - Stu
I'm in the same situation as you. Been waiting for my 23 C8 and I can only look at it in the showroom of the dealership. Very frustrating that they don't have a time frame for delivery.New to the forum, hello! I have a new 23 corvette sitting at the dealership waiting for the headlight software update as well.. it’s pretty frustrating considering nobody has any information as to when it’s going to be released. The deal is complete and car is plated but cannot be released. Today, I discovered another potential problem N232427051 Transmission fasteners improperly torqued. Seems like it’s a complete transmission swap. It appears to affect late build 23 and early 24 cars, when they upgraded the transmission and were subsequently over torquing the new style fasteners. Anybody have any details on this one? This is not how I imagined buying my first C8 would be, but here we are. Thanks
