At the risk of getting flamed my first impression is the C7 Z06 is a better looking car. Saw a bright red C8 in downtown Toronto this afternoon and it did not stand out from any other M/E car. JMHO

Flame away.

Personally I think the Camaro is a better value than a C7 lol
It's comparing apples to oranges to compare a C7 to a C8
I never particularly desired Corvettes until the C8 came along.

I agree with Murray that your comparisons aren't on par.
You're comparing a Z06 to a base model C8.
Wait till the C8 Z06 is available and then compare apples to apples.

Sorry Blu I disagree. There is nothing to compare between the C7 and the C8. Entirely different cars that share the name only. I think the C7 regardless of model is a "tougher" looking car. Gets my interest up. Again JMHO.

The C7 is a beautiful front engine sports car that can esthetically keep up with the exotics ... and outperform many of them. Gm did a wonderful job on the C7. The C8, and I've only seen one red one quickly is also a great looking car. Yes they are both different, kind of like comparing a Porsche 911 to a Panamera. Both great looking cars in there own way. Not quite apples to oranges, maybe apples and pears or oranges and grapefruit.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I respect yours.
I have been told there are people who actually like Ford Mustangs!!
Can you believe that??
If everything goes as planned VIN 6073 will be born Friday at 10 am and I will be
HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY

LMAO.... Sorry, but many obviously can't appreciate what the Corvette even is and what it stands for. Likely the first time many ever heard the name Zora Arkus-Duntov was here on the forum. Lots appear to have never desired a Corvette until it started looking like a McLaren...lol.... And those obviously couldn't afford a McLaren or they would still likely not be interested in a Corvette........Camaro? lol.... The Camaro is a pony car. Ranks right up there with the Mustang and the Challenger. Not Sports cars. 76 million of them on the road and other than the late 60's nobody even notices them... Enjoy your C8 but other than viagra on wheels, possibly a Corvette doesn't mean as much to many these days as it does to the vast majority of members on this forum. 'Save the Wave'.

For what’s it worth, I have loved all versions of the vette. I was a teen when my older sister got the vette bug and bought two C3’s. I was wanting to pull the trigger on a Laguna Blue C7 but timing was not quite right. I now have my C8 and it is spectacular! The handing and power via that tremec DC is simply amazing! Not taking anything away from previous gens at all. They are different cars. Given that this is a base model even my z51, what’s coming will be amazing. This is more car than I will ever need!

I'll race you in my 500 HP Camaro with loads of suspension goodies at half the price of the C7. ROTFLMAO So There! ;)

I have had all generations of Vettes (including a Split Window) except for the C1 and C7.
Still have my C5 Vert and C6 Z06 and will soon add the C8.
They have improved with every generation except for the '78 Anniversary
one I had which was a step backwards from the '69 to '72 Stingray.
There has been controversy with each new generation, ie: dropping concealed
headlights, dropping manual trans, etc.But the fact remains each generation has
more power and more creature comforts, all packaged into an affordable vehicle
that can be modded to suit your personality. (Bright wheels or Black wheels)
I think The General has done a magnificent job and can't wait to see what rest of
the C8 lineup brings us Corvette fans.
JMHO

Murrays comments speaks volumes about the demographics of the C8. The average purchase demographic age for the C8 is substantially lower than for previous corvette generations. I was fond of Vettes previously but never to the point of love. But, the C8.... the trauma, the anguish, the sleepless nights that GM went through to finally dive into this after all these years... That's where my passion lies for this vehicle. C7, C8... Hard to compare the story that they'll both live.

Geez ... a C5 smacking a C8 Hornets Nest for them to swarm the C7 ....

I think I’d rather know what you think about the new Electric Trains versus the Old Steam Locomotives ...

yes this is an intentional derailing
(and perhaps punny) 😂

We are all entitled to our opinion. I like the C7 too. But I love the C8 design. Many have been critical that it’s a 720 wannabe or Ferrari wannabe. But really, how much variance can you have when you go mid engine? They are all chasing the same performance numbers and the major design requirements are going to largely dictate the outcome. Given the task of the engineers to make the leap to mid but not completely alienate their loyal base, I think they did a great job. No mistaking this as having Chevrolet DNA.

Much like backwoods hillbillies, often DNA is shared by many. I always share the wave when I meet a Corvette on the road. Thinking now that once I realize it was a Vette, my wave may be too late. Sheesh.... I just waved at a Mclaren.... LOL....
