Found a couple more pictures of the mystery car a few posts back...another shot of the dash and clearly they were going for a car that would in fact drive itself...

...Yes the 58 Nomad is well done. I would not call it extremely rare , they are just not built by many cause the 58 Nomad was only available in a 4 door and lost the unique look that the 5-6-7's have . I have one but will not build it . What I see is that it has the Level Air script on the tail gate which if was a factory air suspension car then yes that option is very rare, but he may of just put air ride in it and put on the script...I don't know 4 sure. A mild custom is my style of doing things too like he did. I missed that Draggins Show in Saskatoon but I'm pretty sure this car was there. Do you recall or noticed that jar mounted on the rad support ? curious if that was for the factory vacuum ashtray or he did something else there ? Thanks 4 the Xcellent quality pics.
This car is a mystery. I see no gear shifter, no gas pedal, no signal light lever although the toggle switches on the dash might be that ? The ignition key is in where the cig lighter should be. Could this car be electric ? I see a power vent window switch, that did not exist in 58, the bucket seats sewn in the correct upholstery, again, there where no buckets in 58, the brake pedal is streamlined for extra foot room ?
...........you guys are excited over a car they just stuck the motor behind the seat, and me excited about a mystery car they built 60 years ago with no steering wheel...........
.It could be electric.I think I saw a really long extension cord on one of the earlier pictures.![]()

.Allrighty Michael.... Here is a gem on display in Red Deer for the Winter games . They may even consider trading down to a Corvette... Guaranteed no streamlined wind resistance; the most dependable motor there is; no plastic, just wood and real steel; no fancy electronics (actually no electronics); no silly summer only tires; and could also double for a grain field stone roller.... and it will seat 9 easily for those evenings at the local Drive-in.......

Looks like a significant part of the story Murray.
