I finally decided to take the leap and paint the terrible machined edge on my carbon flash rims. It was a little nerve racking but I figured it's cheaper than aftermarket and if I screwed them up inwas considering aftermarket anyway. Inthink it turned out pretty good for a $40 mod.

I like the machined edge, it provide some definition between the tyre and rim.

I'm not crazy about the silver edge either. I bought some orange rim tape on eBay, but the adhesive is no good. If I don't find better rim tape, I will do something what you did, but I might paint mine orange to match the body.

No I went aftermarket because I think all the stock wheels are not worthy of the car, but if I stayed with a stock wheel set up , Paragon 20mm spacers are a must to make the wheels flush and acceptable looking.

Do NOT like that look at all. Ya, the top of the tire is flush, but the rest of the tire sticks out. I'll stick with how GM intended it.
I like the contrast of the machined lip as well, but everyone likes different things or we would all be driving exactly the same looking car
I could live with the machined lip but it shows those "nubs" even worse than the painted ones. Aftermarket wheel companies have been making a fortune off this car, there is a reason sets of stock wheels are selling between $500 for silver and $800 for black.
Bought these from VetteStripes and installed this week. They match pretty close to Sebring Orange.
