Great post and interesting to follow your progress! Thanks for the great details and pictures.

Are you using a media blaster like a bead, or silicone-based? It cleans things up nicely. I also get an interesting appreciation for the way that the parts were built to begin with. You can see a clear difference to what modern-manufactured parts are like with their perfect welds made by robots.

Decided to patch them rather than replace whole sections. Was harder than I thought but they worked out quite well. Rear end is rebuild and all new bearings and seals. Hope to have more updates for you guys soon.
