Need advice and ?

Regarding PPF and / or Ceramic?? I was like you and didn't really know what the difference was by the sounds of your question....Once you read and understand the purpose of both, then you can decide what is important and get 1 of them done if you you think it's worth it as the outcome is totally different for both.....Once I tried to educate myself by reading about both, I'm not going with Ceramic as I can apply some sort of wax to my car myself.....I am however interested in Paint protection from stone chips etc, so I'm thinking about doing PPF once my C8 comes in, but probably only on the front bumper / hood and mirrors.....but at the end of the day, it's all about what you want and how much $$ you want to spend...
I really wish I had done the roof. It would have saved me at least $800 when the lid flew off, but not only that I scraped my new roof on one of the garage door hangers when putting it back on. A friend didn't do his roof and he got a nice stone chip there. Anyway, if you do get the roof done, according to Murphy's laws, it won't get hit there anyway. LOL

you mean Murray’s law :-) I always do the part above the windshield, rocks always fly up in that direction even on a high truck. Not sure I would get the roof done on a HTC but on a coupe definitely as the thing is coming off and going on all the time and being moved around. So yes agree. On the other hand I don’t feel it is necessary to have the entire car wrapped in it, will cost a fortune but then again if this is someone’s dream car and they will have it for close to forever and they have the means to pay for it then why not.

A full front wrap, top of windshield, mirrors, door edges, and lower rockers would be the bare minimum in my opinion

I did the whole wrap. He wanted to do my car so bad that he said he would sharpen his pencil for the quote. Cost was 4 grand.
I have two visible strikes form flying objects. One on the passenger mirror and one on the driver side rear panel

So what I had read, was a fact, 800kms to unlock, to full extent and 1500 kms, to race. Now here is my, ? , they say at 800 kms open and close driver door and wait 15 minutes. Is that literally or anytime after 800 kms , we do the open door and close it for 15 minutes at least?

Mine switched while I was driving. Unless they changed something in later MYs

Thanks because I was really wondering about that one , not much of an explanation, thanks again.
BTW, it was 804 km's I believe. It's actually 500 miles which works out to a little over 804 km's

Hi , I have been told from one, to get Ceramic treatment and some say PPF. I want to know, what most of you did , what it costs and do you know of a good place, in, and around, Montreal?
Strongly recommend PPF (paint protection film) for the full front clip (bumper, hood fenders and lights). Good to have on the mirrors and the rear air intakes. It is 100% transparent but ensures the paint will not chip when struck by a stone. You spent a shitload of $$ on the car, now spend a few bucks to protect the paint up front. Every truck on the road will launch stones at the front of your Vette. When you see a paint chip when washing the car, your heart will break. Prevent a broken heart and get the PPF installed as soon as your garage queen shows her nose in the spring. Bonne chance!

Been checking out the different companies in my area and have received a quote of $3600 for the PPF (full front, mirrors, rocker panels, side vents and door handles) then another $2000 for paint correction and ceramic coat for the car. It is definitely looking like a good deal considering the damage it can save. Plan on keeping the car. Received my vin# today and it looks like a Feb 16th build. :)

The price quoted seems high.

I did Expel on mine after paint correction. I bought the car last summer and it only had 12K kilometers on it so was in excellent shape. I did the front clip the windshield posts, the carbon fibre font, running boards as well did the rear quarters. I have the ceramic spray that I am going to use this summer to see how it works.

@SONSH1NE This is what I got Kavaca Pro is about the same as Expel Ultimate. Either one is great.
The full front in paint protection film is $2100 in Ceramic Pro Kavaca which is the latest and most expensive film on the market. It’s got a 12 year warranty, has instant heal technology, is super clear and comes ceramic coated.
The air vents would be $220 more.

Gold package includes a thorough wash, 3 step decontamination, prep wipe and the coats on paint, wheels, windows, headlights and tail lights. The price is $1600.

Thanks Murray. I am having a hard time finding someone down in this area that even does the PPF. Who did your car? I may have to travel.

Mine was done shortly after I got the car, so prices may have changed. I had to leave the car for a couple of days, so you might want to look harder in your area.
You can also buy Xpel kits for the C8 PAINTPROTECTIONFILM.CA though it does take some expertise to apply.
You can try Google search. "xpel ppf installer near me"

You will get all different opinions here. Does it depend on your budget? If you want to go full out like me I had the full car PPF'd and then ceramic on top of the PPF and interior and wheels and rotors, and window tints and headlights @15%. I still say PPF is the best protection you can do. I did it on my 7 year old Harley CVO and not one stone chip on it. My wife says I have to keep this car for longer than two years. Thats usually when I get bored with a car and trade it. Not this car. I love it. Get compliments all the time. Some have said my car glows and ask what I did to it? It's also very important to get a good shop with references from other customers when you are spending that kind of coin on a car and how their warranty is on materials and labour. We This picture was taken on a cloudy day. In the sun it's incredible.
