Honestly didn't really get the official 2000 confirmation. I was getting worried as I had the order number, I called the corvette concierge number a few times over the past several weeks to see the status. They could never find my order number in their records which worried me. And today I get this photo. I did not have the best experience with the order so I can't tell you exactly when it went in from the dealer but I believe it was on Dec 29 if that helps. I had originally put a deposit down on Sept 18, but the dealership totally screwed that one up and they needed to do a second order as my original one went TPW "unexpectedly". Sorry, I can't help more.
Sounds like we are close to the same time frame. I received an allocation Dec 23. Went in that day paid a deposit and did my build. Last I heard ( 3rd week of Jan ) I was at 2000. Well I'm guessing it was 2000. GM Canada couldn't provide a number. Don't think she knew what a status number was. All she could say was "GM Has received the order" Now I'm waiting to hear back from the Dealership as to what the status is now.

Thanks. It is helpfull. My dealer is very honnest. He did not ask for a deposit before he got a firm allocation from GM. I got the order number early december when we configurated the car but at that time as the dealer did not have allocation so the status was 1000. When he got his allocation (January 14) the order went to 1100 and 1 week later the order was accepted by GM and then the order went to 2000. It was on January 21. Looks like I am about 3 weeks behind you. As the Corvette factory is close this week, I am expecting an extra week delay before getting to 3000 level. End of February early March is the new target.

I got a response from my dealership. Looks like it's about as productive asking them as it is calling GM Canada. Vague explanations but no status number. Guess I sit back and try again in a month or so.

That's odd. Your dealer should provide you with the most accurate and up-to-date info and especially the order status number, regardless of what it is. I'd ask again and ensure they're looking at their computer properly. Plus I'm worried for you: did they even place the order? I don't mean to overly worry you but it's weird your salesperson of all people, can't confirm the status number. It may simply be a misunderstanding.

The only more accurate info source for C8 production, appears to be from Bowling Green itself and when you're getting the museum delivery, which delivery isn't available to any Canadians.

Find out how many 2020's they received (no guess work there), how many 2021's they've been allocated so far (ditto), and how many more 2021 allocations they're expecting (their best guess) and where you are on their "already allocated" list (no guess work there). If you're not getting good answers, you should consider talking to the sales manager. I don't know your dealership but it sounds like one that's not used to selling many Corvettes? Getting all the info I've suggested above, may tell you that. Or maybe you've got an inexperienced salesperson? Good luck and hopefully you'll clear this up soon.

Allocations were received at dealership and one was given to me. Downpayment made and order placed late Dec. A week ago I called GM Canada. They said GM has received your order. I asked does that mean it's at status 2000 ? She said "I don't know anything about status order numbers. All it says here is GM has received the order" I'll wait another month and try again.

Ok, after reading this thread, I'm curious what's going on with my order. I paid a deposit and ordered Feb 5, 2020, (Wallace Chev, Milton ON) and still nothing. Am I getting screwed around?
Wow! I'd be curious too if my order was placed a year ago. Call gm Canada with your order number

Probably took your deposit but was never match to an allocation... did you ask your position on the list? How many allocations they expect to have?

Can't say for certain as dealers all over Canada receive allocations based on previous years sales. Being a smaller dealership they may not have received many for the balance of 2020 and now into 2021.

Definitely give them a call and ask for both your order number (E.g. ZDTWX4), their dealership code (E.g. 95043) and your event code at their dealership (E.g. 1100, 2000 or 3000).

If you go onto www.chevrolet.ca and use the chat function you can submit your order number and dealer code to the chat agent. He/she will let you know if you are 1100 (order created at the dealership) or 2000 status (accepted by GM - matched to an allocation the dealership received). An event code of 1100 means the dealership has you in a queue of customers so ask them what number you are at. Event code 2000 means GM has given the dealership allocation and they actually submitted your order through to GM and it should quickly get to event code 3000 where its accepted by production control.

If you can't get the dealer code ask the order agent above if he/she can provide it. Best of luck!

Here are the various GM event codes and what they mean:

I'm going in Saturday, meeting with the sales rep and the new car manager, will get some answers.
That's some detailed list. Thanks.

Copy and paste that list onto a document and throw it down on the New Car Managers desk and say "where am I on this list...point to it"....LOL.

Or politely ask him where you stand. ;)

I talked to my dealer this morning. As the factory is closed this week and also last week I was not expecting any change in my car status.
I was wrong, I moved to code 3000 this week without a target production week. My dealer guess that the car will be in production is about 3 to 5 weeks. My personal guess is more in 6 to 8 weeks. I hope that I am wrong :) .

Congrats!!!! So your order was put in the system Jan 21st ? Looks like I am one month ahead of you but I'm still at 2000 :(

Congrats on moving to 3000. It makes perfect sense that you were moved as it is part of the scheduling process so though eventually it would be affected by a production stoppage it wouldn't stop GM from moving allocations through the scheduling process if that makes anysense. I moved to 3000 at the beginning of the month so I will let you know once I hit 3300/3400/TPW. Cheers

emtae001,
Why don't you ask your saleman to send you a print screen of the status of your order?
If your order was placed effectively one month before mine and that your dealer was having an allocation for you then you should be ahead of me and be at 3000 level already.
I am sorry to say that but I think that your dealer is playing a game with you.
Alain
