Buckhorn 76, there is no chance of them doing the wrong one as I am getting both knees done at the same time.

Anyway an update on my recovery. Just had my 6wk check up with my doc. With some reluctance he gave me back my driving privleges which is nice but I have a helluva time getting in a vehicle. Been in physio now for about 4 wks however they can't seem to get any bend in my leg. Sitting at about 65-70 degrees (had 122 pre surgery) which is not enough to function very well. Not sure if I can get in and out of the vette or not. I'm wondering if they put the right size replacement in. Physio can't figure out why he can't get more bend. Anyway trying to stay positive.

Stay positive SB -- Sometimes things just take longer than they should.

Can you go in the hot tub often? I'm sure that would help with flexibility and mobility.

We're rootin' for you as well as Navion for a full recovery and to be more mobile soon -- Keep your chin up and keep the faith.

Colin.

The joints all seem to come around. Some just seem to take longer than others. I understand that knees can take longer than hips as well. You still have six weeks until May and I've never had the cars out for much driving before then so you won't be missing much. Just keep up with the physio.

Somebuddy, you hang in there. Ijust finished week 1 of physio and there are a few guys with similar issues like you. I asked the physio guy and he said it simply takes some people longer but they eventually come around. The key is KEEP DOING YOUR EXERCISES AT HOME. Iknow it is a little painful and sore to do them but it will pay off. You and I will both be able to get in and out of the car by May, I just know it. I am pulling hard for you.

Glad to hear the progress .Went to the doctors today for hip exam ,xrays showed some wear but not enough yet .Ended up with cortisone shots both sides .

Had a new young doctor ,she looked like she was still in high school .Ya know when ya have some plumbing ,heating car repair ya ask questions to get an indication if the person is qualified right ?So I tried not to be offensive and polite ,I told her I had some questions and Bubbly said "shoot" #1 where did you graduate in your class ? #2 look me in the eye and tell me you never cheated on an exam #3 how many patients have died on you ? Actually she did well on the answers and didn't cry .
The old Doctor who was observing spoke up "glad you didn't ask me the questions"

If they get all up tight.......leave quickly. Many doctors consider themselves above reproach. I went to high school with a guy who became a doctor. My wife can rhyme off a litany of screw ups he has made over the years including two with my mother-in-law. I wouldn't want this clown petting my dog never mind looking after my health. There is a new clinic just down the street so I switched to the doctor there. She sent me to a different heart specialist because my pills were causing unpleasant side effects and I had quit taking them. First thing he says is: "There can be only one chef in the kitchen." I said: "Fine but I am the one living in the kitchen all the time and it has to work for me too.". He put me on half the dosages that I was on and there are still side effects. Don't be afraid to ask the hard questions. They all don't pass with 100%.

Right ,these people have our lives in their hands ,we have a right to know and I'm very respectful and polite (I act Canadian:D)

As a doctor said to me when I was much younger "If ya let go of my balls I'll finish stitching you up ":D

Glad to hear the physio is under way SB! I'm just sorry to hear that you don't have as much mobility as you had before. However......I don't want to sound like I know what I am talking about because I don't, but as it sounds from the other guys, keep up the physio! We're rooting for you and I'm sure your knee will be flexing in no time!

Thanks Riley.......after research and talking with many others I've come to accept that I may never have the 120+ that I used to have. I'll be really pi$$-d if I don't get 90+......I'm doing all I can to get there. On a positive note .............pretty much got the wife convinced I need a four post hoist cause I can no longer get down far enough so I need to lift my car up to me to work/clean it.
