Cheapest gas on the strip is the Costco about 1/2 a kilometer to the West of the base hotel, yesterday it was $1.299 for premium and I expect it drop by the weekend.
For those traveling in if you have any room what so ever, bring a lawn chair or 2 for the BBQ

Next door to the hotel is a Casino, if you sign up for a Players Card (no charge) they will load up the card with $10.00 free play, guess where your wives will be while you play with your Corvette???? Best bet is to sign up on Friday night for the $10.00 and on Saturday (and only Saturday) they will offer you an additional $10.00 free play, so per couple you have a potential $40.00 free play. If you try to do both Saturday it won't work.. You can get to the Casino from the hotel by walking past the restaurant and soon after you enter the Casino walk towards the event center and turn left and in very short distance on the left is where you'll sign up.

It's looking like 30 to 33 sunny weather from Saskatchewan to Manitoba for 5 days straight. Awesome!
Some mixed weather reports for Winnipeg on Saturday, some are saying light rain possible, let's hope not. Some say not till the evening, even so there is a large enough man cave at the BBQ venue to keep everyone dry

YYSSW eh @81Wayne ...
Weather reporting and Throwing Hand Grenades
Two jobs where you only need to be close and still get a pay cheque.

Thank you @81Wayne
I live life getting what I pay for … I'm OK with ""cheapest" as long as there's no Ethanol Sticker on the Pumps ...
so it's normally a stand-alone Shell (non Flying-J), CO-OP and Esso as Calgary's Costcos and Flying-Js have those May Contain Ethanol Stickers

See you real soon & thank you for you help

I'll check at that Costco (as I near empty and need to fill soon) for any Etahanol stickers, I don't recall seeing any. If there is, then there is a Shell about a kilometer to the East of the Hotel on the East side. One thing we have in Winnipeg is agressive gas pricing, goes down a penny here and there until it drops about $.10 then in one foul sweep it jumps $.10 at once. Last jump was $.20 at once.

July 10th update:
As the winter and spring months rolled by many things were going on in the background to finalize plans and venues. This being a multi-day event with many starting points it required some fairly complicated logistics and planning. This was accomplished with teamwork from a number of CCF regulars and some great people in Winnipeg. Wayne has represented the efforts from the Winnipeg side very well. He has organized the venues and recruited volunteers to assist with the events and help provide us with a great Corvette experience in Winnipeg. There are many people across the country who have contributed to the organizing and planning of MITM. So to them, I say thanks.

I would like to specifically acknowledge the generosity of a group of Corvette lovers who have contributed and provided the food and location for the BBQ event with sponsorships from their businesses and offering us the hospitality of their home.

Bernie and Bev: These great folks are hosting the BBQ at their lovely home for us to relax and enjoy some great food and friendship.

Ken Devine: When not enjoying his Corvette, Ken operates a sign business in Winnipeg. electrasign.com. Ken has been a CCF member for a number of years and sports the handle Dockroger.

Barry Bruce: Barry is a McDonald’s franchise owner in Steinbach and Selkirk Manitoba. We expect this guy knows how to make a great burger. Who doesn’t enjoy a Big Mac and fries now and then. Barry is a CCF member and runs under the username of barryB.

Dan Gagnon: Dan runs a car sales business in Winnipeg and can be found at the autogalleryofwinnipeg. Dan had joined us on CCF and rocks the username DanGagnon.

Andy Hill: Andy operates a home furnishing business named kern-Hill in Winnipeg. He has some pretty nice BBQs over there too! Andy has been on CCF a while and rolls with the username of 61ratvette. Quite a few of us are excited to see his “15 foot” C1 Corvette.

Now a few details to update you all on:

  • Autocross and Show & Shine registration will be Friday night in and around the meal at about 19:00. There will be some registration for the Show and Shine available Saturday morning between 07:00 and 08:00. Hands off the cars at about 09:00ish and Judging will begin. This event is fun focused and intended to be a social experience so relax and enjoy.
  • The awards for the Autocross and the Show and Shine will be presented at the BBQ Saturday evening.
  • The 3rd level of the parkade will be reserved for MITM and Corvette only parking. Wayne says the East entrance is the one to use.
  • Don’t forget your lawn chairs.
  • Wayne will give us a live update Friday night on 94 gas and Wash locations.
So be sure and say “hi” to the people who have donated to or worked hard to help put on to this MITM weekend event.

Only 3 more days until we all Meet in the Middle.

See you in Winnipeg,

Derek

Made it to Sudbury today. Top down almost all the way
Thunder Bay tomorrow
Winnipeg Thursday evening.
Yes, I have been involved organizing a few dealer conventions. Lots of work many weeks ahead of the date and right up to and after the meeting.
A big thanks to CCF admins and especially to the Winnipeg Corvette club.

I did think to bring a lawn chair. Don't know how it fit but I got it in.
I forgot who was bringing the mosquito repellant.

True enough, needless to say this wouldn't have happened without Derek's time and money. @ddgermann you get the biggest piece of the props pie and we're all very grateful for everything you have committed to this event and I hope many more in the future. Also huge thanks to everyone else involved who's hosting, planning or helping out on this. I fear that if I start naming you all I'll miss and upset half of you. Thank you.

Anyway will shut up now and let you get on with it.

Coin Car washes in the area, click names for Google maps directions, for most the blue path is best route wash type

Husky wand wash very good pressure, 8 bays (but at any given time 2 could be down) my car wash of choice, although the vacuums there suck or should I say don't suck.
At first the cash wash bays are hard to see, drive by the C-Store and around past the McDonald's and the car wash bays are to the East of McDonald's, entrance on the North side.

Henry's Car Wash - wand wash, decent pressure, Watch as certain bays are not Corvette friendly. Across the street to the East is an Esso 3 bay wash
Esso Car wash - wand wash, 6 bays (have not been here, but heard decent pressure)
Tubby's Car Wash - 4 wand wash bays (have not been here)
