Sure....

5% GM Earnings on the first $10,000 in net purchases annually
2% GM Earnings on net purchases annually thereafter Redemption
This card you mention has a $79 annual fee. There is another GM card same as above except only 5% on the first $5000 annually and 2% thereafter. I think I will be able to accumulator $1k GM earnings to put toward my C8.

Is this card worth getting to save money on C8 purchase and discounts on accessories

There were price incentives for taking this card when I bought my car. I went through the motions but told them I did not actually want the card. They worked it out and I never received the card... only the benefit.

However many love this card as there are real savings on buying a new vehicle. As you read above.

The redemption is only good for a new vehicles(and not all of them). If I could redeem the earnings on accessories, parts, service, etc. I might consider.... Think I'll just stick with my World Elite MC and earn the air miles....

GM will limit your redemption amount depending on the vehicle you are buying.
Not true of the Scotia Card (unless there’s recent fine print changes) ... i had the junky old TD GM Card - very restrictive like max $500 earnings per year and max $3500 redemption and limited models. It has gone away.
The Scotia GM Card came out in the fall/winter of 2015 and now has unlimited earnings and redemption and that’s why I have it. I charged pretty much everything I could for 2 major renovations in 2015-2017 and everything else that I would normally use cash to pay, like the kid’s braces - $10k - used it to pay family vacations. The unrestricted Scotia GM Card works wonderfully and not stretching the truth ...

Redeemed $3664 off my 2016 vette
Redeemed $3557 off my 2017 vette
Redeemed $2626 off my 2017 trax
Redeemed $2124 off my 2019 sierra
This stacked on all other savings
Like Seasonal GM savings and even the costco program in 2019 (which is on again)

Ive already got $615 stacked up
For the next GM purchase. With University expenses coming up for 5 years, looks like the Scotia Card (and the Westjet) card will be used quite a bit ... and to each, their own ... i really see value. I have an AirMiles AMEX but have slowed down quite a bit now that our kitchen is loaded up with small appliances and the summer cabin has a bbq 😂 WOW i just noticed 9990 on my air miles account ... 🤔 ... valentine gift coming right up 😇🤣

I stand corrected. Good to know. I only had the old card, and couldn't imagine they would go back to an unlimited redemption (If you hadn't bought the Vettes, you'd get nearly $12k off your Sierra).
My goal when I started with the Scotia Card was to get a free car. But i saw an ad for my Corvette in the newspaper one day ... and as you can see, things really got out of hand after that. Yes, i would have had $12k for the Sierra ... 😇

My dealership said I would get 4 free oil changes on my C8 instead of the two that they are now giving to new C8 owners. So for two extra oil changes I'm not sure its worth the hassle of getting one if there is an annual fee for the card. Plus you have to use the 4 oil changes within 2 years. We missed the last free one on our Chevy Trax.

There is a no annual fee option for this card folks ...
a no cost at the compromise of 5% on the first $5k instead of $10k ($250 GM Dollar difference each year) ...
so the fee option just might pay for itself if one charges enough ... 😇

Has anyone used their rewards from this card now that people are actually taking delivery of their C8's?

Apparently... "some restrictions apply". There is an "exclusion list" somewhere.
The old TD version GM Visa had all the restrictions.
Good riddens to that Card and to TD too!

The Scotia Bank GM Visa:
Earning rewards since November 2015,
I have reaped $11,871 in rewards plus $1000 in incentives
with it toward 4 vehicles since July 2016; the latest July 2019.
Two Corvettes, Trax & Sierra.
So answering for the current card, I've experienced no restrictions whatsoever
and already have about $700 stored up on the Card
for my next purchase.

Some will argue better with something else and to each their own ...
No annual Fee
5% on the first $5k spent per year
2% on the balance of the year
No charge supplementary Cards - combined rewards for same address users.
Never expires. Unlimited earnings and redemption amounts.
Good for new Chev, Buick, GMC or Cadillac.
Plus promotional cash rewards toward purchase when available.

there is an inifinite option for an annual fee of about $80
to get 5% back on first $10k in purchases = $500 (easily offsets the fee)
then the 2% earnings thereafter.

As someone who plonks down a fair bit of business expenses I have yet to find a card better than MBNA Platinum that used to give 2% unlimited on everything with no annual fee. Then TD acquired them and it's down to 1.75% with a 120 fee I think. BOO TD. Still way more money than any GM or partner card in the long run plus you get cash which you can stuff in a mattress and not invest in casino stocks these days. 😉 then use cash to buy next toy??

I have a preferred card I like to use as well but I have a few hundred dollars I'd like to use up on this Scotia GM Card.

After digging through their web site, I found a link to their "see the exclusion list" and there is nothing on it. I would assume that would mean there are no vehicles excluded from using your rewards for this card. I would feel better if my salesman could enlighten me, but he says he doesn't know either :Banghead:. Maybe someone who actually used it against their C8 purchase will post up here?

... or eventually, I guess I'll find out .

I think the "no exception" pop up says it all.
However ...
You have a Scotia GM rewards phone number to call ... if you don't believe my response above ... so just phone it.
I ran into the same with people thinking this for my C7 purchases so try it 1-888-446-6232 as a start.
The Scotia rep at the time was envious of the redemption for a Corvette.
The C8 isn't "special" in this case and as this is only a GM associated program ...
it is Scotia Bank that fulfills the reward so your GM salesperson will actually know nothing :angelic:
