hey guys,

I am in the process of doing of full restore on my car such of replacing the entire interior like buying a dash pad from Corvette Ecklers and replacing the door panels.. seats center console...etc.

I am starting to examine the engine bay and I have a little hole in my factory air intake and I used sillicone to cover the hole but that looks like s**t. Corvette Eckler discontinued the replacement part for that air intake. So the question is which is better.. The factory setup with the dual snorkel or I remove everything and buy an new Corvette air cleaner assembly? Which is better? Do I get more air with the factory setup?

Here is a 2 pictures. One is a picture of the air intake with some silicone over the hole. The other picture is something that I am curious since the 2 plastic are not joined together. Is this normal? I would think that air would escape in that area and l would receive less air in the air cleaner..

I'll get you pictures of mine on Friday morning when I get home from work. Mine seem to fit better, but I believe I have gaps also. I don't have any replacement hard pieces, but I do have extra flexible ductwork for each side.
