I know I basically at least doubled the hourly wage for a fella while he cut my hair ... who was not allowed to work for more than 2 months. I will likely do it next time too.

Among many of my personal indifferences in regard to the " covid whatnot" going on …
I continue to hear this BC Premier, John Horgan ...

continuing to repeat on the news that BC is not welcoming of visitors from the Province to it's East.
This added by the Alberta Health "#$%!" stating that extended travels are not recommended along
with the travel to YEG logistics for an accompanying Driver.
So I guess I am to oblige.
As much as I was really looking forward to this July, I am sadly having to take on the task
of cancelling my Corvette travel plans that took me through the Northern part of BC.
There is one place that will not refund "non-refundable deposits + tax" that they required for booking.
(same goes for the bookings of the two gentlemen who were going with me - deposits+gst for 3x2=6 nights total)

So I am not going to be shy sharing this BC business on this Forum so that any others can consider
another place if ever along the Highway towards Alaska …

Keeping deposits thru no choice/fault due to cancelling as a result of this "covid whatnot" ...

Update after a month of my post ... the BC Northern Rockies Lodge decided
that a relaxation was justified in their non-refundable deposit policy for those
who had booked stays with them in good faith prior to the March 2020
covid-whatnot shut down. A full refund was not granted having the
customer carry the costs of the Hotel's credit card costs but the effort brings
a decent 90% of the deposit being refunded. YYSSW.
The explanation of the BC Premier advocating Albertans to stay out of
the Province along with various reports of a few vehicles with Alberta Plates
being vandalized at various locations throughout BC, was in my letter to
Northern Rockies Lodge.
What is the small cost worth in the end? A matter of Principle and Integrity
that with as much effort that continues to be advocated at keeping my Business closed,
I am equalling the effort against those who take blatant and discretionary advantage
in the process.
Good on Northern Rockies Lodge to reconsider their original response to me.
I consider them very fortunate that I did not have to send in a Greater Force than I am ... My Wife.
Definitely not a Win/Win ... as this trip was setup to be Epic! ... however it brings closure.

Really wanting and looking forward for this event to happen as soon as next Summer ...
there's 7 cabins at the secluded destination in the Yukon and we already have interests
from 4 others in order to book the entire place. Just needs a tweak to be able to drive-by
one location though ...

After the tourism-driven local economy was devastated here in March it has been incredibly tough on the people who relied on it for their living. With no tourism being permitted and none expected to be allowed any time soon; instead of rioting and mayhem from the hungry masses; here is an example of what is going on instead.

He was beaten in vote count last election but when two provinces control who will get elected, the rest of Canada doesn't really have much choice. I see he has added another 150 firearms to the ever growing list of banned guns. Interestingly enough, several single shot shotguns have now been classified as weapons made to kill the most amount of people in the shortest amount of time. It's only a matter of time before only criminals (and redneck Alberta hunters) will have firearms.

Interesting that under the guise of Covid and with the help of the NDP this Liberal Prime Minister has subverted parliament to achieve a left wing goal, disarming the populace. Never let a good crisis go to waste.

Covid has given him the opportunity to override our elected officials on a number of issues not just guns. Even the most ardent supporter would have to be concerned about what he and his cabinet are doing. By the way where is his plan for reopening the country? Why is he fixated on guns when he should be focused on getting people healthily and back to work. I guess Gerald has not sent him his talking notes.

If he is worried about gun control perhaps he should be looking at the RCMP and asking some serious questions of them. I believe the number since 2004 is 813 guns of all types lost, misplaced or stolen and never returned. 813.

Sad times coming. I support so many of the initiatives for gun safety but when the criminal element can so easily smuggle any firearm they want into Canada, and judicial punishment is severely lacking for all committed crimes in this country, I really have to just shake my head at reactive decisions made to fool the population into thinking you are going to make a difference, when in actuality, the largest benefit is popularity pandering to leftist ideals. You are correct. Covid is taking it's toll on many things besides health.

As important as the firearms debate is, the OIC sets a dangerous precedent regarding our already weak property rights. Through this current OIC the PM and cabinet have established that on the whim of any sitting government, through an Order In Council, the cabinet can outlaw any piece of property you own. Lets assume a radical environmental government assumes control, they could through an OIC prohibit the use of any vehicle with an internal combustion engine, force you to turn that vehicle in within two years, and under threat of criminal charge forcibly remove that car from your possession. Oh yes and maybe a buy back program worth pennies on the dollar.

Many people just focus on “good riddance to guns”. Its not about guns. Its about the upcoming tyranny. You can protest but can't go to church. We have freedom of association but can't have a group over 50 people unless the cause is government approved. We have freedom to travel throughout Canada but several provinces have banned inter-provincial travel. Try organizing an anti-lockdown protest. Let me know how that works out for you.

I haven't even started yet....

And yes much of this is supported by Ontario and Quebec voters who re-elected this regime. Not an opinion, its what the data indicated.

They had no choice in who they wanted working for them. Every decision they have made recently ties OICs and Bills back to word salads about the environment.
