You would have thought that the car manufacturers would have thought of this before installing this equipment into their cars. Then again, I'm no computer whiz so I really don't know what all is involved.

I think this article was based in part on the 60 minutes segment that aired on Sunday, where they demonstrated taking over a Chevy Impala remotely. They did it by dialing the OnStar number of teh car and overloading the OnStar system with data until they could insert a program that allowed them to get access to ECUs and send commands over riding the occupants inputs.

Pretty scary! I'm considering disabling the OnStar system since I'm not subscribing to it.

Also beware of smart TV's and computer cameras .

I dare say that they can replicate our key fobs and steal our cars too. I'm no computer geek so I am just guessing.
