B.C. Trip, Steamer, and a C4.

There is a picture of the C4 on here somewhere. Might be in the cars for sale threads. Sunday morning I met up with Rob and Colin in Chilliwack just for fifteen minutes because of their hurried shedule. Colin's C4 is like new condition, a lot to say for a car that is almost twenty years old. Was great to meet both in person. And both were in even better condition all the way around than the C4 that they were escorting back east. Just too bad that the encounter only lasted for a few words, and as everyonr knows a few pictures of course by Colin.

Glad to hear the trip is going well so far! Too bad we were not able to meet up as we were so close! That would have been fantastic to meet you and Rob. Keep us posted on the progress! Great weather for a corvette trip through the prairies. Looking forward to the pics!

Hi Guys. Arrived here in Brandon at 9pm after another long day. Left Calgary in the rain and arrived in Regina in hot sun at 34C Had supper in Regina so we didn't end up eating so late and that's why the late arrival here. Car is still running fantastic and showing a solid 30.5 MPG not bad for the vintage. Thanks god the air conditioner worked good in all that heat. You'll have to wait till colin gets home as we can't upload photos with the motel servers, so you'll have to stay tuned. Off to Thunder bay in the morning, but it will hopefully be a shorter day. Stay tuned.

hahahaha at some point pretty soon you lads will be passing my buddy that i bought the shark from. he is on his way to alberta and just emailed me spending the night in thunder bay !!! :D

Thanks for the link!

It really is a beautiful looking car Colin - great find! At first I was sort of scratching my head but now I have to admit that it would have turned my head had I seen it on the road. Of course if I had any hair left on my head it would help too.

CB, what is this nonsense, a quota for yellow vehicles you say. Uh no, such a thing does not exist I'm afraid to say. There can NEVER be too many yellow vehicles! You should no better!!

On that subject, off today to get the new siding for my garage and sheds. Yes CB, it is yellow too! If I manage to get the job done it really ought to make the yard look nice and I'll post some pics for all to appreciate........

Cheers,

Garry

Well, here we are in Thunder bay. Got a good start this morning and only made two pit stops on the way here. After filling up the range meter showed 840 Km not bad for 72 liters. It seems to be getting better as we drive. Cars looking rather ragged from the rain and dust and Colin's out in the parking lot trying to spruce her up and check all the fluids. She's still running great and has not even sneezed at the millage that we been racking up. About 3400 Km so far. We're off to Espanola for tomorrows leg, so wish us luck. Will check in tomorrow night and then we'll be on the home stretch.

Well tonights stop is Espanola On. The day started early and on the road at 7:30. The trip around Superior was uneventful except for a lot of construction delays. Pushed it through The Sault and arrived here at 6 with another 1000 km behind us. Ran into a huge rain storm about 20km out and it was a huge downpour. But it sure cleaned up the car and the dirty windows. Car still behaving marvelously and now I wish I had bought it myself. Tomorrow is another early start to catch the 9:10 ferry at South Baymouth. Off the ferry at 11:00am and then on to Fergus and should arrive there about 3:00pm.
Talk about a route 66 marathon we'll have done it. It's been a great trip with lots of things to see and I really enjoyed Colins friendly company. Thanks Colin, for the great ride.

Looks like great sailing weather tomorrow; light winds and sunny and warm. When you go through the village of Williamsford on highway #6, be sure to stop at the Williamsford Pie Company in the old hardware store on your left. Very famous around here for their coffee, tarts and pies! It's just a 5 minute stop over between Chatsworth and Durham. Williamsford Pie Company - home made pies custom wedding cakes and deserts

Mmmmmmmmmmmm Pie!

Car didn't leak in the rain storm? That's pretty awesome! I imagine the car must be more water tight than a frog's butt-hole. :D

I'm very glad to hear everything is going well. Great trip you guys!!!

She not only looks good she's tight as a drum too. No leaks. What a car and what a trip.

Brief on the write-up here -- and I'll need Steamer to remember names and places but here's a few of the pics I took starting with KW Airport last Thursday evening:

On a local Canadian Forces Airbase where we had lunch a couple of times. Some flora and fauna (A 'Monkey Tree') and some very tame Bambis who were quite photogenic:

These next 2 posts are actually of carvings done with a chainsaw. Quite spectacular. We had to stop and look to take pictures. (on the Island)
