Many times. We use to dig a deep hole in the sand on the beach, build a big fire in it and when it was all coals, load it up with seaweed, lobster and cover it with more seaweed and then a wet canvas tarp over the pit.... Nothing on this earth as good....Ever burn one ?
With some steamed clams and expropriated corn when possible.
