How bad is the original "V"? It looks pretty good in the picture.
looks like 2 different types of letters though.

I thought it was just the reflection from being so shiny.

The orig set have a very flat top surface and crisp edge where the sides meet whereas the replacements have a very slight roundness to them. You'd see the difference if I used the orig V amongst the others; and sure as...you know...the only posts that would be different are the ones on the V if I was to drill the holes based upon the orig V this weekend. BTW, I decided to replace them as the orig ones have some pits and "bubbles" caused by corrosion over the years - so the plan is to make it all shiny and new. As of today however, I'm one V short of a great plan!

All's well that ends well

Received the "V", and now it's drilled, painted and installed...just have to paint the bumper pads once the white has aged a bit more. Thanks to all who contributed to this superb thread and made this task much easier!

Thanks all...new rear bumper cover, new tires all round and replaced brake hoses - that's it for the 2014 spring refresh so all set now for the CCC Road Tour on Sunday down to Westport!

Really neat job on the installation of the bumper. Have fun this summer with your refurbished ride. Very nice.
