They don’t look like much, but worth a trip to Calgary to pick up👍 A set of original steel wheels that clear disk brakes! Off a 71 4x4, actually it’s a hard find and keeping the original look. Just need to find some oem hubcaps. View attachment 80308I’m also growing attached to “loaner wheels” 🤔. I talked my buddy into considering selling them to me. Not sure on this one 🤷‍♂️
I don't mind those wheels Dalen. This is not to be an insult but they look a bit like my Ford diesel wheels.

Got the box on today! Kinda sketchy doing it myself 🤣. But it’s on the frame, still need to install the cross braces and bolt down the box. Love the long bed stepside 😍. To many people take these trucks, and cut them into a short bed. Can’t wait to load up a full load of lumber in the back of this old girl 👍😎 of course when that price of lumber goes back down 🤣

It’s scary! Hopefully soon the price goes down. My neighbors a contractor, and jobs are starting to get dropped, because it’s $30K + in cost of materials now.
There's a few out there losing their shirts because they signed contracts before the increase for house builds and didn't buy the lumber back then. It is scary.

C10 box is mounted, garage is cleaned ✅. While waiting on a shifter, and carpet for the C10, I pulled a 94 LT1 Corvette motor out of a boat for a friend to get sent away for a rebuild! Fun stuff around the garage 👍👍. I’m really liking the 2 1/2” Front drop and 3” rear drop on the C10!! Sitting nicely, and not to low.

Haven’t posted in awhile! Been busy, mostly not garage, doing house/family stuff. But had to pull the 4l60e. Tore the pump up, having the torque converter not aligned 😬. Never noticed when I installed the transmission that it had to much of a gap..... Long story short, it’s back in and cost a extra $200, had to install some shims to properly space it. Lesson learned for a stick shift clutch kinda guy 🤣.

Did some wood work on the truck! Not sure on the box rails, going to have to paint them white and see if they fit the truck 🤔. Someone put down deck board before me in the box, so it’s missing the original metal stingers between the boards, it’s not the nicest look but functional until I redo the box. I finally got the gas cap mounted in the box as well, no more coffee can covering the gas tank up and the smell gas fumes gone 🤣

Busy week! But the C10 is on the road!! Stained the box boards, cut and hacked the gas pedal to fit, installed the carpet and seat, hauled it to get the wheel alignment, test drove it, broke down, fix it, and some tuning on the fly. Fun stuff 🤪. So far I still got oil pressure and runs and drives great 👍. The wife took it out for 3 hours, and now says it hers 😎. What a fun build!! While doing this project in the C10 world, I met some good people, learned a bunch on the old trucks and had a blast!!. I have few little things to clean up and do, but the C10 build was a success 👍👍. I’m kinda lost now with the whole fleet running and nothing to do. Not sure what next...... C5 turbo build, C3 LS swap, LS Swap Square body C10, Electric swap MG? So many ideas, I have been on Kijiji & Facebook marketplace, see what’s out there. Just enjoying working away at any project in the garage teaching my 3 boys the passion of building stuff and having fun while doing it.

A man with a passion. Good on ya Dalen. I spend a lot of time in my cave working on things non mechanical...lol... When I think I am running out of stuff to do, I invent new things. A month ago I was caught up in my hobbies and out of nowhere decided I would build a Viking axe for my fishing and hunting buddy's birthday. Enjoyed it so much, I have two more on the go now but then got sidetracked and decided I would build a greenhouse with about 20 old mobile home windows I came across. I learned quick that as well as not being a mechanic, I have a lot to learn about carpenter work too... LOL... Measure twice/cut once.... Here's a pic of the axe I built. Cut the head out of an old splitting axe and carved the handle out of a piece of 2x4. Hardest part of the whole thing was learning how to braid the leather. Youtube is my friend
now.
