Z06 OFFICIAL LIST of who is on the list? who is staying? who is dropping?

@DenisC8 Our C7ZR1 prices and C8 waitlist times reflected in the used market are almost certainly indicators of C8Z pricing to come. But hey feel free to believe a car with 6-7 year waitlists won't come with a ridiculous mark up in the used market.
I read what Dennis said and I agree with what your saying here. Let's face it we deal with the fact that the US gets 90%(2021) -91%(2022) of the allocations and the rest of the world gets 9-10%. For 2022 our allocations fell from 7.2% to 3.9% but Canada is still the second biggest market for the car and the top export country. When it was safe to do so and I listed my 2020 Coupe for sale, I got more calls from the US about buying the car than I did from Canada. When it comes to the Z06, most American buyers are dealing with dealers that want 50-200K over sticker. Up here were fortunate to just pay sticker and the luxury tax and tax on that tax is our governments market adjustment were stuck with for now. If one is fortunate enough to get a Z06, the value of that car will be in direct proportion to what the cars are selling for in the US because no matter how many get built for the US, buyers will want to snap up our cars in heartbeat. The demand for the Z06 (which is off the charts right now), will determine the future value of this car for the next couple of years at least. Our top dealers have waiting lists in the hundreds. If these waitlists continue, the market for any used Z06 or E-Ray that becomes available will be priced at an equivalent value of what the cars are selling for in the US. We have a lot of smart people on this forum that know that 80% of the Canadian population lives within 100 miles of the US border. Whatever comes up here, is wanted down there because the cheapest place on the planet to buy a Corvette is in Canada and the smart dealers in the US know that! Great discussion guys!!

^^^ completely agree.

I have heard of one of the first Z06 in Canada already exported for massive $$$. I'm pretty sure that dealership will lose future allocations and the seller definitely blacklisted. Just to add to what Mr. Corvette noted above the strong US dollar is also affecting the premium that can be had making Canadian cars ever so attractive to import.

If the $100k USD premiums are in fact happening that is $137k CDN and nothing to balk at.

Lol.... Z06 predictions everywhere are guesses at best, based on rumors and coffee shop chat. Just look back to only a year ago posts, not to mention all the predictions that floated through here all summer and fall. You will be able to buy a Z06 at $110k, Canada will get 2000 of them this year, deliveries to customers will be in September...And on and on and on... My prediction (wild guess) which will likely earn me another negativity comment or three is this. If you are more than #30 (and even that is optimistic) on a list, you will never get a new Z06 as by the time your number comes even close; the E-ray and the Zora, If they build one), will be revealed; and GM will start backing away from fossil fuel powered engines big time forever. Even Canada is pushing towards a total new car sales ban by 2035 for gas powered. A little more noise from the bleeding hearts out there and JT will adjust 5 years off that year again. And to be honest. It's no loss. The Corvette stopped being a Corvette in 2020 and turned into an exotic wannabe with zero ties to the American Classic sports car.

Just my opinion, prediction, guess, stab in the dark, etc. etc.

the exotic wannabe- depends on the definition of an exotic. Once the price point goes past 250K is it no longer a wannabe?
Another prediction- the Zora will be $300K. (Canadian).
Given the sheer number of C8s and variants which will be out there, will the C8 be THE American Sports Car? I can't think of another American car which competes in the C8's domain.
And once again, we are off topic of this thread!

Honestly, I agree with you. I bought a "C8", not a Corvette name, history or because its American. The "C8" is an exotic, nothing wannabe about it based on design and performance. To own a C8 puts you in an exclusive club of those who know that a "C8" is not "just a Corvette". A C8 is different than every generation of Corvettes before it, and the demand for it reflects that as every generation before a C8 was available on the lots and could be had with a discount, all that changed when a C8 arrived. If a C8 did not exist I would not own a corvette.

To me, the C8 is 1st generation of an exotic, and should be compared to the likes of Lamborghini Countach and Ferrari Testarossa

Have to mostly agree with you Denis.
LOL, jealous MUCH! ;)
Lol... Actually I considered briefly but when I had my first look and sat in one when they first hit the market here, I changed my mind. Major factor was we like to tour... two, three weeks plus at a time down into the mid western and southern states. Have a 12v cooler behind the seat with beverages, lunch meats, cheese etc. I do the driving, Brenda tosses together a sandwich when we don't want to pull over and are trying to make some mileage to the next little town. Bag of chips, her books to read when she gets bored... Can't do that with the C8. Everything has to go in the trunk/frunk and have to stop and get out to get what we want. Back in and drive and oops... forgot something.... Pull over again. That and my other passion in a sports car is a third pedal. I do like the looks of the car but there's lots that I like the looks of as well and they're not 'Corvettes' either... ;) I don't fault anyone with wanting the exotic look at a bargain basement price though. Like I said, they look good and they have certainly helped GM leap into a whole new market.

No argument. It certainly can be the American Sports car.... I believe my words were "the American Classic Sports car " There is a difference..

There is no wrong answer when it comes to the C8. Why did guys buy a C8..... because they want one.
Why do some own a C1 that is a classic, but not long haul cruiser.....because they want one.
Some own one that others say "why"....... it's a personal choice.
Back to the original post regarding the Z06..... The allocation for the Canadian Z06 may be under 20 cars with the larger percentage going to the large eastern cdn dealers and maybe 5 coming out west.

Loved my 2019 Grand Sport convertible, but I couldn't reach the 12 volt cooler in the back. Cheers
