Vette Fest - July 07-08 (Bayfield ON)

I think I am going to have to speak with that Brian guy to show him how to detail a map for a cruise, those arrows don’t give a sense of start and stop and path, just saying …

I think back in the days CAA used to use a yellow highlighter on paper maps to sketch out the driving path….

Neils - don't worry about the arrows. Only the leader knows where we are going. It is just a long line of Vettes going to a craft brewery. At least that is what it was last time I went. No maps, no GPS........ just drive.

good to know thanks, got in touch with Brian and have a couple of things worked out, just hoping I make it in time for the cruise, will try to leave early enough.

Still have to work on the hotel details, so far being told $300 for 1 remaining room in Bayfield if not $230 for something in the neighbouring town. Will likely look into all this once I am back from vacation early next week.

Not to beat a dead horse but I was going through VetteFest Facebook and found this posting regarding washrooms. However we may still have to walk down the street if the line is too long at the Town Hall, but let's stay optimistic.

We are pleased to tell you that the Bayfield Town Hall (across from Clan Gregor Square) will have their washrooms open for us all to use during July 8th Vettefest. There’s also one washroom in the park too.
The Bayfield Townhall will again be hosting a sausage and hotdog lunch along with drinks at their tent in the park that day as well so please grab something to eat from them and thank them for helping us out again this year.
Thank you Town hall committee!

you had me at sausage and hot dogs, bathroom a bonus !!!

Can someone who has attended before and is familiar with the setup etc pick a spot and time on the Saturday when forum members can meet up and get to see each other?
The organizers designate where you park when you arrive so they can fill the space efficiently. If you have a group I believe you need to be together when you enter. If you are looking for a place to meet up Sat. AM before entering I suggest the LCBO parking lot at the south end of Bayfield LCBO, 71 Main St S, Bayfield, ON N0M 1G0 - less than 1km from Clan Gregor square . Tim Hortons is next door and the LCBO is closed before 10AM. I suggest meeting at the LCBO and depart from there at 745AM and convoy to the square.

There are lots of new hotel rooms 20 min. south of Bayfield in Grand Bend. Rates/availability may be better due to recent re-openings of renovated properties. You may need to call these places direct to confirm availability as they are small indepandent owners.

I wasn't thinking of meeting up nearby and driving to the event together. Some of us will already be with other drivers. I thought once at the event we could walk to a designated spot and meet each other at a specified time.
You could arrange to meet at the registration tent, or the gazebo or the stone walkway entrance with the iron Clan Gregor Square sign above it at the edge of the park.

Going to book my hotel room in a couple days once I am back from vacation and will make every effort to be at the park by 6:00-6:30 for the cruise and crack of dawn for the event. Probably the only Quebec license plate there. Once you guys choose the meet up location will be there for sure !!

Gonna be a costly event / stay because it will be too long for me to drive back after the full day event so will likely stay there for 2 nights. Gotta pay to play like the saying goes.

Hi Everyone
Elaine Coombs here, one of the events organizers. We are so glad that you’re coming to our 15th annual Bayfield Vette Fest! For the Friday night cruise night we all meet in the park about 630 and the cruise begins at seven. A local guy is our cruise leader and he’s the one that chooses the route we take! It usually stops along the way at a brewery or winery. There’s usually about 80 or more vettes on it and everyone has fun. Might even see a burn out or 2!
Saturday morning the gates open at 8 am. Pay $20 CASH at the entrance and we will give you your dash card there and the boys will tell you where to park. Then go up to the gazebo to pick up your swag bag (there will be 250 available), enter you name into a door prize draw and buy a t shirt and 50/50 tickets if you like.
There’s a couple of vendors in the park too!
WE WILL HAVE BETTER WASHROOMS THIS YEAR! They are directly across from the park in the Bayfield Town Hall. (Last year they double booked and we could not use them). Also the Fireman’s breakfast is on Saturday morning and it’s just across the street as well!

Let’s pray the weather is great as it’s always been for the 14 other Vette fests!
Last year we had over 330 corvettes in the park and many parked outside so it’s a great time! No prizes awarded, just a fun day to show off your Vette and have fun with other Corvette owners.
Check out the 2023 Bayfield Vette Fest page on Facebook for more info!

See you all next weekend!
Cheers!
