Vette Fest - July 07-08 (Bayfield ON)

Corvette Club of Windsor, we caravan up Friday afternoon to participate in the road cruise at 7:00 pm but I think I am the only CCF member 1 BAD 9T9. See y'all there on both Friday and Saturday just as we have done in the past. Great show but get there early on Saturday if you want to be inside Clan Gregor Square. Last year many late arrivals had to park outside on the roadside.

Cindy and I will be coming in from the Leamington area and are planning on leaving Friday afternoon. New to the Corvette scene so not sure what to expect with the cruise. We attended the London and Windsor shows and enjoyed them. Met some very nice people and their cars. I will look for you and the Windsor Club Members.

Wondering if we should make lists of who’s going to upcoming events like this one (and others) so people know which forum members are in attendance.

NickRapidC8
Thom
Ontcanuck ??

For a 300+ Vette show, only 3 C8’s does not sound like a lot to show for.

Still deciding to make the drive up. If you are going feel free to add your name to the list above.
The Cruise is pretty good on Friday night aswell.

Usually about a 150 cars for the cruise. Went on a 45 minute drive or so last year. Stopped at a local brewery. Then some of us went to the beach in Goderich about a 12 minute north of bayfield.

Just curious, those who drive in early, get a nice spot and settle in for the event. What happens when one wants to eat, anything nearby ? People coming in from afar won’t be packing a picnic so curious how most make it thru the day at this location ? Since it is a gathering of cars assuming there are no vendors onsite or nearby for food and drinks.

Already read that bathroom breaks won’t be easy. Is Nearest restaurant walking distance (under 5KM) ?

details of this cruise ? Assuming more of a local thing on the Friday ?

There is some great restaurants within a few minute walk on the main drag in bayfield.

I have attended the Bayfield Show several times and always enjoyed it.
Last year after driving 3 hours to get there I found there was only one public bathroom available for 700 people. I found that unacceptable and unnecessary in this day and age.
I don’t plan to attend again.
Right on Banjo about the washroom. My better half hoofed it down the street to find facilities along with dozens of other people. Hopefully this year the problem is fixed. We'll find out when we get there. BTW after she found a toilet she found a neat floppy hat in one of the local stores so not all was bad......

This is sounding like a discussion of something more commonly associated with the S&M underworld, with a touch of bondage thrown in, and possibly even a veiled reference to something known in some circles as a "train pull", although I'm not intimately familiar with the particulars of same. :Cheers2::Hurray::Angelsad2:
You have a rare grasp of the conspirators mind…

I read on the Facebook page. That wouldn't be a issue this year. Also the fireman's breakfast is back this year too.

So tell me, if I make the drive I want to make sure I at least get a decent spot at the park. So thinking maybe to drive down the day before and stay at a motel, and then be in line nice and early to get a good spot (and not be too far out).

What time would I need to grab breakfast and still be in line at a decent time to land a good spot.

Would hate to spend time at breakfast and then wind up there too late in a long line. Just curious around the logistics for the morning lineup to get a decent spot and still have time to eat something.

Thanks for the info for all those who replied with details so far, since I don’t live there going in blind for this one.

If you do come down, I would say park first early and then we go to breakfast!

I will be staying Friday night in Goderich at a friend's. It will be my first time at Bayfield and am relying on my friend for timing, locations etc. Goderich is a 15 min drive from Bayfield and is larger and it may be easier to find a motel there. If you stay in Goderich you can convoy with us. Don't forget the Fri eve cruise.

good to know thanks !! What are the details for the cruise ? Is this one of those Denis organized cruises or another one ? Not sure I will have the energy for a cruise after an 8 hour drive to get there but will see, if the cruise starts later then maybe. Thanks !!!

Goderich would be a good place to overnight. Dreamz Inn south of there on Hwy21 is a bit closer to Bayfield, but pricey.
