tips & tricks

when you're under the car changing oil and filter, what to do with the filter can be a problem. the plastic bag trick works but the filter is still full of oil. i have a good size drain pan with an old b.b.q. narrow warming rack placed over to one side. the filter can drain while i'm still under the car. if you like, you can drill a couple of holes in the lip on either side of the pan and zip-tie the rack to it to keep it from wandering. :D

brake blowers ??

looking at brake blowers and marine bilge blowers - i don't see the difference between the two. could a set of brake cooling blowers be as close as your local marina or possibly canadian tire ???

if you ever drop something in a confined space that can't be retrieved with a magnet, try a length of drill rod or something similar with a dab of grease on the end. :D

If you want to protect your convertable top when you put it down, put a thin bed sheet
at over it then fold it .
This stops it from rubbing on itself and leaving marks

When you travel and want to protect your paint on the front, put saran wrap over the front of the car and take it off when you get home.

Just tell her!

When a man says he's going to fix something----he will!-----There's no need to remind him every six months!!

This tip is kind of lame, but when I am waxing my hood, I usually open it, so it it up-in-the-air. Makes it easy to get to the midlle of the hood. Just started this last year, as I'm presently winterizing the 'vette.

When I go to wax my car, I will try it with the hood open!

Then I'll drive through a puddle of oil/fluids to undercoat the car! Sounds like a great idea!

Actually, on a donor vehicle I am pulling a motor on for my truck, I noticed how much more easily the bolts came out that were soaked with leaking engine oil than the ones that were dry and rusted in!
