Thanks Somebuddy!

Take your victory lap please! But I mean with a car that colour don't you consider youself a winner already??

They did a few odds and ends as well. Replaced the hood struts which needed Viagra otherwise, replaced a bolt in the exhaust (that is what the rattling was!) so it wasn't totally the fuel pump either.

Just back from my final mail run with the car, chirped the tires for final farewell to fall, punched it a few times on the way home for good measure. Nothing and I mena nothing feels a enjoyable as the kick in the seat of your pants that car gives ya!

I do have to try for some road trips next year so you never know, I may make it to Ponoka. I've only been there once before to look at some seed drill parts with a friend.

At least, as God is my witness, the car should not be travelling anywhere this winter so it will be ready to hit the road after winter as soon as the snow is gone. Gotta make up for the time I missed in 2013 right?!

garry, if you ever get close to moose jaw, please give me a shout and I will try to meet you. even if its Saskatoon. that's only a nice 2hr ride

Good afternoon Colin!

It is in hibernation mode now. Battery trickle charger in place.

I just have to drain the methanol. Have you done your car yet? How'd you tackle this?

bigneez, if I do ever venture east out of province - COUNT ON IT!!!!

Cheers,

Garry

Hey Garry, I used a soft flexible rubber hose about 4' long to siphon the meth back into a container.
Be careful feeding the hose into the reservoir to prevent damage to the float.

I finished off draining what little was left in the system by running the engine and pushing the "TEST" button briefly at a time so as not to stall the engine.

Watch for the warning for the low windshield washer reservoir to come on.

You may get some misfire while doing the final drain and generate a CEL but don't be alarmed -- it just a warning of minor misfire. The light will clear as well as the misfire.

I also had traction control warning come up for some reason but it cleared too.

Let it run at about 1500rpm's for another few minutes after final draining to allow the engine to smooth out properly.

C.
