Awesome Huge Thank You for continuing with your words and the Photos Derek ... I like it a lot !

... all I got is a 21ft bowrider with
not one thing in it for what I need to do in the form of generating income
as with many like these, it gets wet more on the trailer than in the water

one "big ass" rope for the anchorage
and that's it's lift to keep it from getting scared when
the water is rough

patiently waiting for more from Derek while in "tomorrow" life

All very kewl stuff Derek. I have a buddy I grew up with that retired a couple years ago but was the chief engineer on an Exxon oil tanker. He also had some interesting stories but his ship wasn't near as complicated and full of equipment as yours. They had a new tanker built in Shanghai many years ago and he had to be there the last six months to oversee all the engines and generators and whatever being installed. What surprised the heck out of me was for it's maiden voyage back to North America, they filled it with honey. I imagine a payload on the way home probably paid for some of the upfront costs. He also talked about the pirates that tried to board her somewhere off Egypt.... Scary stuff to me but he seemed to take it in stride.... I offered to head up ship security for him after that but they thought maybe that wouldn't be a good idea.... lol.....

Yes Eric there are some Sketchy places out there to be sailing. Believe it or not this pirate stuff is still going on daily. Just not news anymore as it’s the new normal. I’m happy to be usually in relatively stable places and avoid most of the drama. But your buddy would have some very interesting stories as a CE.
This ship began her life as an oil tanker and was build in 1999 in Japan. She was commissioned under a different name and now has been dry docked and refitted and all the process modules installed in Singapore over 18 months or so. Re-purposing these ships is the most common platform for these production units. Although there is a short supply of hulls now and many are being purpose built. The cost of an average conversion sits around 1 billion $. We left Singapore about 14 months ago and arrived here on location in 2 weeks. Some of these units are 2 months getting from the yard to the location for permanent installation and connection to the wells.
I usually last a couple years finishing construction, commissioning, start up and then some time on an operation rotation...then am on to the next one.

So...is there a pet posting page? Or thread?

Wow!! Like I said before... it would be nice to line up 15/20 Corvettes in your yard. We’d have every kid in Kalispell riding their bikes over ! That would be a great place to have a show/shine.
